I understand people here want Bosh, but at what price?

Does Bosh fill our need? yes.

Does the addition of Bosh put us officially a championship caliber team? Maybe...yes. My opinion is it still depends largely to the health condition of Yao.

Does the addition of Bosh make us a contender for years to come? Yes.
A clear-cut top level team (like the lakers)? Yes with a healthy Yao, no otherwise.

Does the addition of Bosh make us a good team that can quickly become a contender even if Yao (knock on wood) suffers another one and retires? Maybe.... a yes with our current players.

Can Bosh be our Yao replacement (cornerstone of this team)? In my opinion: No. No. And NO.

Now what price we have to pay to get him? Expiring + 1 or 2 players with good potential (CBud /Hill) + picks, what else? A 130 million contract. My key concern is does Bosh really worth that much? Even him and Agent 0 are different in every way, would sign him to such a big contract affect us like Arenas did to the Wizards if he did not pan out? Think of another not-so-dramatic example: the 129 million no-show-in playoff player of orlando magic...

Bottom line is if I want to commit that amount of money on a player, he better be Kobe (younger version)/Lebron/Wade caliber, in other words, franchise player. The way I see Bosh is not and never will be one. Someone educate me. Thanks.

    Only for something like:

    Jeffries
    Battier
    Hill

And a combination of picks etc, giving up any more rotational players would be a bad move, IMO.

Yes he fills a need. An all-star. You don't win championships without all-stars. Morey can find role players every year.

And I'm certain Morey knows this. You can't give up your whole core and expect to be a 60-win team and have a chance to win a championship.

I know this is all about Brooks, look I love the little guy as much as the next but its freaking AARON BROOKS not Kobe Bryant. He can and will be replaced just like Carl was replaced before him, nice player but highly overrated on the board. IF all they are asking for is AB, JJ, Hill and one of the Knick Picks...YOU DO IT YESTERDAY.

I think I'd be disappointed if we threw away both of the Knick's picks. I'd like to at least keep the swapped pick next year. Especially now that the Knicks situation looks even more dire than it did a few months ago.

I don't love the idea of giving up Brooks, but I have confidence in Morey. I don't believe he would make a trade without analyzing the scenarios. He knows how losing particular players would impact the team and probably has an idea of what he needs to do in order to replace those players.

you have to trade any asset you have to land a superstar. morey proved that he can replace starters and role players with equal talent. what you need is a superstar.

knick's picks would be giving up too much. after all, those picks could land us a superstar of our own. yao, martin, and brooks might be too much if included in a S&T. anything else is game.

I don't have a problem with them trading Brooks. I have a problem with them trading Brooks and not have a plan to get another PG. Lowry is great and is probably one of my favorite players on the team, but he can't shoot. If this team does land Bosh, you're going to need a PG that can hit the outside shot. Although you have K-Mart that can make defensives pay for doubling on Yao and Bosh, you still need a PG that can hit that open three. Having a PG that can hit the outside shot is a must for this team.

Exactly my thought. Hill, plus Battier plus fillers or Patterson instead of hill and throw in the 2012 first round picks that is plenty. We can even toss in 3 mill to finalize the deal. The one other thing I would be willing to do is take on Hedo for Jeffries and hayes. I know Hedo has got this bad contract with 3 more years on it. But he is a pretty good player and might actually help us for most of those years. Plus that gives us one angle that Chicago and Miami have no way of Matching.

Those picks can also help with not having to give a lot of your core. I believe that's the concern here. I can you this, with Joe Johnson resigning with the Hawks, those NY picks are gaining value as we speak. Their best case scenario now is Boozer or Amare and Rudy Gay.

I say hell no to Hedo...

But I do agree, i don't see Morey giving up the farm with a SnT with Toronto and I'm sure Bryan Colanglo knows this as well. Toronto just wants to get something out of it. It would be different if we were trying to trade for Melo. Then Morey would have to give up the farm.

If we really want to win a championship we need the HEART of a leader. This is Battier.

I hope we package something like this...

    Jeffries
    Hill
    Llull

    All the knicks picks

Throw in Budinger if you want but I hope that Brooks is not included.

I want to hold on to as many draft picks as possible really. If they get Bosh, they'll have Bosh, Martin and Yao earning big dollars. Being able to fill the roster with cheap talent through the draft is going to be important to keep this team winning.

I don't know if Battier will be here next year. I just have a feeling he might be traded.

That's why IMO, if you trade Hill, the Rockets must hold onto one of those picks. But if Toronto wants those picks, Houston must keep Hill.

Giving away too many young prospects/picks is certainly not gonna happen, Morey loves picks! The real question is, how do you think about the $120,000,000 for 6 years. Apparently Joe Johnson just got the offer from Atlanta, would you commit that money to JJ in a S&T? Would you do it for Bosh if the ask price is Battier/Hill/Jeffrey/1 Knicks' pick?
