I watched the draft the other night. If you were watching you would have seen how every team waited the full 5 mins to make there pick. The Rockets were on the clock 2 mins and they selected Head. I am sure they saw alot of him in tryouts. To all you haters you were not at one tryout. So how can you say he sucks. I remember at the beginning of the season everyone was saying fire JVG. And he lead us to the playoffs. So give the guy a break lets see what he can do before passing judgement. I think the Rockets have a plan. They know what they need to get over the hump. Again they selected him very quickly. So have alittle trust in the Rockets. This is not Steve Harris they drafted. :)

I pick earlier and they would have had the guy they wanted, someone name Joe D.

    :D

that is so great - all these haters who have such a limited knowledge of the rockets history that all they can do is say that Head is another Rodrick Rhodes and Reece Gaines... maybe he will be the next Alan Level

...or the maybe he will surprise us all and be the next sleepy floyd

I trust the Rox too on this one -

    (1) Nice job talking about "limited knowledge of history," and misspelling both first and last names. It's "Allen Leavell."

    (2) This is Mr. "Knick at heart" we are talking about. JVG doesn't want someone reminiscent of former Rockets. He went looking for (and may have found) the next Charlie Ward.

...oh, you are so cool...

since you have all the answers, please tell us why do you have over 2400 posts on a fan board for a team that you obviously dislike

This error is not too surprising, as JVG-colored glasses are known to rob one of the ability to differentiate between simple digits such as "0," "2," "3," and "9."

look kid, I was watching the Rockets playoff games LIVE in the 1980's - I remember seeing Rudy T as a player. I am not a JVG fan by any means (although he is growing on me a little BECAUSE he is the coach of my favorite team)

Rudy T got cancer and had a coach-killer (aka the Franchise) on his squad. It is not Les' fault that your uncle Phil is banging the Laker's owner's daughter (even though you would blame him and CD for "not bringing in Phil")

we are all so freaking tired of your negativity ... just get over it

2550 is greater than 2400, just like 51 wins is greater than 43 or 45

again, if you love Phil so much, go to the laker board - because no one else here is as dillusional as you... seriously, I ask, why are you posting on a forum for a team that you clearly dislike

you hate the owner for not bringing in Phil

    you hate JVG

you hate the way the team drafts

you hate the players they sign

for most of the other haters on this board, their hate comes for a good place - from a true fans perspective - but you, you can't even give this team one ounce of credit. They won 51 games last season and have two of the best young players in the game... but you WANT them to fail, so you can say "see its JVG's fault - I the great edc - am correct"

What is with this, Willis25? You want EDC to be a Laker fan and go to the Laker board. You want me to be a Raptor fan and go to the Toronto board. If somebody disagrees with you, then they should abandon the Rockets for some other team?

I have been attending Rockets games since their move here from San Diego, so I feel I have some rights and privileges to agree or disagree with how the team is run -- just the same as the person who became a Rockets' fan in the last game we played against Dallas.

We all want to get to the promised land, regardless of whether we like or dislike JVG or whether we like or dislike our latest draft selection. It's called freedom of speech. Live with it.

stop being so sensitive, I disagree with a lot of people, but I know most peopl are fans. My comment to you was a joke, since you were disappointed about the rockets draft - with the 24th pick - I suggested you check out the raptors if you want to see a team that was a disaster on draft night -

as for edc, he is the poster that kept the Fire JVG thread alive for months after we started winning and his sig says "Phil Jackson for Rockets head coach! -- Thanks a lot, Le$ :(" -- as if all Les had to do was call Phil Jackson and offer him the job. It is one thing to disagree with a couple of roster moves, but support your team - its another for someone to look for reasons to pout simply because of the coach... I mean, who cares who is coach as long as the team is exciting and wins ?!

Meh. Late draft picks are always gamble's. Even before we picked, we all knew the chances of a 20's pick ever contributing to a team are like 50/50. Simien is not a lock for success, and certainly neither is Taft. I will say, though, that the spurs' pick is the one I've got my eye on. They just draft so damn well.

Oh, my attitude towards Head is wait and see.

This is the first draft that JVG had say so, I will be curious what the results of his drafts in the future. I think Head will work out fine, and as far as PG duties, we just need for someone to bring the ball upcourt. TMac will be the primary ballhandler in the 4th anyways.

It also reminds me, at east anyway, that the previous drafts were Rudy's drafts. CD should take some blame for the lousy drafts we've had but Rudy is mainly the one who wanted the likes of Boki, Eddie G, Terrence Morris, Roderick Rhodes, Mirsad Turckan, etc. Ultimately, that's mostly who I blame on our previous crappy drafts.
