Hehe. We don't win this game without Walt Williams, plain and simple. Big time rebounds and 3s. Took it right at the TWolves from the outside on in. Great bench player, nice offensive rebounding. 5 for 8 shooting. Did everything you could ask and got 12 points and 5 boards against the MVP from the Rookie All Star game. What was that about him not being able to be a big time player in our future?

I think they thing that got Walt hot was his early attempts to drive to the hoop. Hopefully he and the coaching staff were focusing on this and noticed this. He had a couple of nice drives early and got the ball through the hoop a couple of times and this can easily get a person out of slump.

I still think he sucks though and would welcome a trade.

You better believe I am. I have all season.

And as for not believing-- I never said that Walt would have a bad game tonight. I just said there's a chance of it because he is going against Wally, and if you are to bet on Walt having a bad game its kind of unfair to do it against Wally. I never said myself Walt would have a bad game at all-- go reread my posts.

Achebe: I like Walt as well. I don't think he's a great starter, but he's great to keep the other team honest with his jump shot. If he had only fulfilled his promise out of college... what a player he could have been if he had stayed in shape and had better work ethic!

Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak?

    PS. Notre Dame sucks

I blame his slumping on injuries. Isn't his shooting hand hurt?

C'mon, guys, don't dis on the Rockets. :)

As Walt goes, so go the Rockets. It would be nice if streaky shooter Walt could go on a nice shooting streak to close out the season. But, for both Walt supporters and haters, I have a question. Is it worth having him on the team if he only shows up for a third of the year even though the team plays at its best for that third?

    Achebe,

Why do you say this and also when you respond to other criticisms of Walt's game like people just make this up. Walt performance or lack there of against the stud SFs round the league speak for themselves, just as do his rebounding stats.

It's great that he has strung a game together and hopefully we get a pile more.

    Crisco,

If not for people posting criticism's constantly, I would not even personally consider to post topics like I have the last two days. I know one game isn't the season. But if you dish it out against my Rockets-- I might dish it back when they have a good game. Please do not take this as sounding arrogant, etc.-- that is not me and that is not what I am trying to say at all. I just love the Rockets and it really annoys me when people bash them when they don't deserve it, and I believe in the philosophy of giving people "a dose of their own medicine" at times.

    Crisco,

I think he could be a dominator every night on offense if given the ball, but sometimes he ends up as our 7th or 8th option. In that case, you can't expect him to dominate every game. But when called upon, he can take over a game, and he can also rebound well, even better than Maurice the starting p**sy PF. As I have always said, there are three pieces to the bench players of a championship team (luckily we have it all in Walt): perimeter scoring and mediocre defense and good rebounding. You have to have all three. Sure, right now the interior scoring may be a more glaring need, but just because Walt's been lacking from within 23'. If we had a interior scorer off the bench but lacked Walt, Walt would be a player we all dreamed about having. For an important piece of the puzzle like Walt, I would not hesitate to give him between 2 or 3 mil per year in a multi year deal.

By the way, how fitting is it that my 2376th post is one in defense of Walt Williams?

Dude's hitting threes at a .407% clip. That's really all that needs to be said about him. You can like him or not like him, but you can't argue with facts.

    Achebe, you pathetic slut:

It might have been impressive if the Wolves were on a 4 game winning streak instead of a 4 game loosing streak.

    But I digress.

Achebe, since you're so in love w/ Walt what sort of money do you think he's worth? 4 mil? 5 mil? You don't pay tons of cash for a bench scrub. You pay it for a dominator. Walt doesn't dominate the boards and he hasn't consistently dominated on offense. I certainly don't want to see Walt on the court anymore. What up with that?

God are the box scores right? Walt Williams in 13 minutes scored 11 points on 4-5 shooting? He had 2 rebounds? Two assists?

    Chris who?
