Hehe. We don't win this game without Mo Taylor, plain and simple. Big time rebounds. Took it right at KG on the inside. Great defense, nice offensive rebounding. 8 for 13 shooting. Did everything you could ask and got 21 points and 8 boards against the best PF in the game. What was that about him not being able to be a big time player in our future? [IMG]

He definitely looks alot more like a PF now. Driving, muscling his way to the hole, rebounding... Defending. He looks like he wants to see some playoff action.

    Yeah, you said it:

Can't have it both ways. You set him up for failure because it's the norm against Garnett now you're acting like you believed all along.

I like Mo Taylor and would agree with you on a lot of things, but even I hate watching you post "I told you so!"

Just be ready to take the flack from the board when Mo has a bad game.

He could really be the Rockets PF of the future. They must resign him.

I don't know if that is fair, because people are getting on The Cat when he talks about Mo, but when Mo or Cuttino Mobley have bad nights and people say "look I told you so, they are hurting the team", nobody gets on those guys. Trust me, the people defending Mo have taken flack, even when Mo plays well.

You better believe I am. I have all season.

And as for not believing-- I never said that Mo would have a bad game tonight. I just said there's a chance of it because he is going against Kevin Garnett, and if you are to bet on Mo having a bad game its kind of unfair to do it against KG. I never said myself Mo would have a bad game at all-- go reread my posts.

I don't think Cat didn't believe Mo would have a great game. I just think he wanted to show that Finn* was unfair in hinging judgement on Mo on a game against one of the best PFs in the league.

I didn't doubt Mo either, btw. [IMG]

That's what I love about this team, how they have that cockiness and how they talk trash. Garnett talks alot of trash and that got Mo pumped up. When you get Mo fired up he can be a scary player.. ask Shawn Bradley. Also, he got the huge offensive board and layin and the huge defensive board at the end. I dont think you'll see anymore dissapearances by Mo.Despite the game Mo had, Kenny had a GREAT game. Without him in that first quarter, the rocks are down by at least 10. Add to that, he played great D on Garnett and anyone he guarded. That's another thing I didnt agree with Bobfinn about, he said kenny was a horrible defender and that's the only reason Walker even got as many points as he did.Kenny is a GOOD defender.

I hope Mo continues this and proves me wrong.
Back-to-back good games, not bad. Take us to the promised land Mo, then I will be impressed.

You have me confused with someone else. I never said that.

    Tacoma/Finn,

That was me who said what you tried to accredit to Bob. Personally, I am not impressed with Kenny's D one bit. I think he gets pushed around too much, doesn't have good positioning, and can get a little lackluster in terms of effort. He can improve, but right now I just don't like his defense much at all. Of course I can be wrong, just saying from my perspective he has a long way to go before being a good defender.

I loved the way he played tonight. If he can play strong like that every night, take it inside I think Houston will have a great chance to make playoffs.

    GREAT GAME MO.

    Cat,

Why do you say this and also when you respond to other criticisms of Mo's game like people just make this up. Mo performance or lack there of against the stud PFs round the league speak for themselves, just as do his rebounding stats.

It's great that he has strung back to back game together and hopefully we get a pile more.

My apoligies then Bob. Cat, Kenny Thomas may not be a great defender but he is a GOOD defender. He is smarter than any rockets big man at defending the post. He has great hands and uses his bulky body very well. This isnt the first time Kenny has had a good defensive game against an elite big man. The Sacramento game at home, Kenny came in for Mo and was a big reason Webb shot so badly that game. Tim Duncan has also said Kenny was a good defender. He does not get banged around, unless he's on Shaq. His only weakness on D would be the fact opponents can shoot over him quite easily.

Mo showed us his full portfolio tonight... and at the tender age of 24,against one of the top 3 players in the game.He played Garnett tough and pushed him off the block using that great NBA body. His fundamentals amaze me.When he started to post up KG,I was, astounded.Seeing him facing up and working him was sweet too...Another great job MO!

How strange... I thought Mo was going to disappear too. [IMG]

I really don't get the Mo bandwagon stuff. He's had two solid games but this guy is still a cake and ice cream player. When he's not scoring he's not doing ANYTHING. Even the clearly less talented Kenny Thomas is a more meat and potatoes player. This guy is constantly getting loose balls, crashing the offensive boards, and hustling.

This year, Cake Taylor is averaging 12.3 pts, 5.5 rebs, and 48% shooting.

In 1995, Chucky Brown averaged 8.6 pts, 5.4 rebs, and 54% shooting.

As you can see, even a journey man player such as Chucky sharing a frontcourt with a defending MVP can put up comparable rebounding numbers to Mo.
