I wonder what Taurian Fontenette was thinking as he passed the trophy for the dunk contest to the winner of what had to be the lamest ever? And speaking of Mr. Fontenette, why not bring the ABSOLUTE best dunkers in the world to the biggest stage and show all the vieweres out there how the evolution of the dunk has really changed. I understand that its an NBA event, but is it really what it used to be when the superstars of the league wanted to actually take part? You got a rookie scrub, a laker scrub, an outkast scrub, and a guy who had the lamest imagination i've ever seen, and they ALL managed to make everyone in that building yawn with each passing dunk. Just go youtube the Air Up There and tell me that guy wouldn't have blown the roof off of that place! But the real issue is that the BEST dunkers in the NBA were sitting in the stands tonight and after what I saw it's for good reason.. why even take part in something as lame and repetitive as this has become? However, I believe that the best would want to compete against the best.. so bring in the BEST!
None of the big names want to be part of the dunk contest for some reason. It could easily be a big event if you could convince Lebron, Kobe..etc. to enter.
Lebron and Kobe's ego is to big to even waste their time on the dunk contest. Both have become very boring lately.

Good dunk contest: D. Howard, D. Wade(His imagination would carry him), Lebron, and J. Smith The stars need to be the ones in the contest. D. Howard MUST re-enter the contest next season. BTW.. kobe is too old now, hes still super athletic but not on par with these guys anymore
The best dunkers are afraid of loosing simple as that they dont have that jordan mind set of being the best in everything. kobe already won one so he is excused but Carmelo,Lebron,Durant, Bosh,etc. there not, they should be in there.With all the talent in the nba its a ashamed and not fair for the fans. Nate Robinson, Gerald Wallace, Shannon Brown DeMar DeRozan this is supposed to be all star weekend and none of these guys are all star maybe nate but thats it. One of the worst slamdunk contest ever. I hope one day the slam dunk contest can again be exiciting and have real stars dunking. One can dream i guess
