    dog.

We went "hiking" in the woods around our house with our daughters, a friend of theirs and our dog ROCKET.

Along the way a Golden Retriever/Chow mix joined us. The dogs got along. The dog was kid-friendly.

She followed us home. She has no collar. She's "respectful" of cats and very friendly with humans so she would seem to belong to someone but she came out of nowhere.

We even looked at Google satellite maps to see if we can figure out from where she might have come.... no help. I guess we'll tack up some signs and call the local vets on Monday.

    We're calling her Goldie.

Congratulations! Our first family pet is a golden/chow mix. Our life has never been the same since! When do we get to see pics?

When I can figure out how to upload them from my Mac. The instructions don't seem to apply. Any help? Any Mac users out there?

You should take her to a vet and have her scanned for a microchip.

    Rocket with my son.

Came home tonight to find Goldie gone. She disappeared for awhile last night and was back by morning.

Poor dog. Maybe the dog got loose because of all the caos. Good that you are giving her a good home!

No Ike here. We're in North Carolina.

Last night, again, Goldie disappeared for awhile but was back on our back porch by breakfast.

We just returned home from church and lunch at the grandparents (gone five hours) and she's still here with Rocket roaming the back yard-- no fences.

She acts like she belongs here and she acts like she wants to belong here.

Going to put up some flyers today....
