38 misses on 13-51 for 25.4% Looks like we set the record on December, 16 2016 with 37 misses. But that was 24-61 = 39% shooting. Tonight, we would have had to go 11 for 10 to reach that total. We also had a 34 miss game in December, but on 38.2% shooting. We also had a 32 miss game in December, but on 38.5% shooting Here's the list of all NBA games of 38 or more 3FA. Someone mind double checking for me. http://www.basketball-reference.com...=&c4val=&order_by=fg3a&order_by_asc=&offset=0
The thing is... We got shooters for this very reason. They are supposed to capitalize on these open looks. The team has morphed into last year's team.
I mean I don't think the looks are as open as they were at the beginning of the year because teams are ready for it
You are watching a different game. I'm watching a team that is bricking open shots, not one that is being guarded any better. If anything the defensive adjustments of other teams have been to hound harden and leave the shooters to avoid the easy rim buckets.
Go watch that tape. They are missing wide open shots, including their beloved corner 3. Gordon is missing those deep uncontested 3s
Disagree. Ariza, Gordon, Anderson, Beverley, and Harden are all getting the same looks they've gotten all year. They're just not making them at a respectable clip. Given that the whole team was designed around them doing so, it's not surprising that they are mediocre at best right now.
They didn't know what to do because we were draining 3's all across the court. Everybody is easy to defend when they're shooting 30% now.
How are you defining open? Most of the time they are getting at least a guy pretty close whereas before it was like practice.
The offense definitely bogs down late (another issue altogether), but no, they get plenty of open shots. I think most on here would agree. No shot is going to be WIDE OPEN, but they're plenty open, and with the shooters that we signed, the production we're getting is simply not good enough.
What's disappointing is missing so many open looks at home, where you'd expect shooters to be more comfortable
And this isn't an aberration any more. We have a few weeks of this happening, more than not. This is a problem of the upmost variety.
