I just read a report that Bo Outlaw is set to sign a contract paying him 4.5 million in the first year. Our trade exception is 4.4 million, so the deal works. Orlando could then go sign Mo Taylor. Have I missed anything? ------------------ "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." -- Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764
That'd be an impressive front line... but did it read that he had already signed? If so, I do not think he's available until 12/15... after the exception expires. ------------------ "At one of these governors' conferences, George [W. Bush] turns to me and says: 'What are they talking about?' I said: 'I don't know.' He said: 'You don't know anything, do you?' And I said: 'Not one thing.' [Bush] said: 'Neither do I.' And we kind of high-fived." --Republican Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico shares a verbal exchange that took place between he and George W. Bush. Not going to happen. Outlaw is getting $5.5 million in his first season and has already rejected trades to Houston once or twice. Plus, Outlaw is more valuable to the Magic than Mo Taylor - simply said, he's not gonig anywhere.
That will leave us with C- Cato, Dream, Collier PF- Bo, Los, Kt SF- Walt, Langhi SG- Shandon, Cat PG- Stevie Franchise, Moochie I.R. Drew, Pig, Bullard You know what? That is a pretty good team. I think this lineup could get us to the second round of the playoffs. ------------------ "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . From www.nbatalk.com- More Magic. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic will continue signing players, this time Bo Outlaw and John Amaechi. Outlaw is expected to sign a multi-year deal starting at $4.5 for the first season in the next few days. Amaechi will sign a one year deal worth $600,000 soon. Amaechi turned down a much more lucrative contract from the Lakers to stay in Orlando. ------------------ "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . I don't think that's what is going on, but there is a way it could happen. In other words, it's not impossible. Outlaw would have had to have been signed for the purpose of being traded (and it's possible, I suppose, that that information just hasn't been released yet). Also, assuming that is the case, the trade only has to be done within 48 hours. All that could be happening, but I don't think so. I suspect he just signed a deal that is close to the amount of our exception. ------------------
As mentioned before, Outlaw killed off all speculation by denying a trade to Houston. I think one of the big reasons we mentioned him so much is because he is a U of H graduate. I'm still wondering why he didn't want to come. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone. We're that and more!
Also, Mo Taylor is about to sign with Toronto, not the Magic. ------------------ Kenny Thomas had a foul called on him in the Western Conference Finals.
Ace - May be Bo Outlaw still has hard feeling about the Rockets passing up on him in the second round draft in 1993 ------------------
Oh man! I want Bo Outlaw so much! If we could get him we would be able to beat anyone! ------------------ Miggidy Markell says: 1. Eastcoast is da sh*t 2. Rockets rule 3. Hip/Hop is dope 4. Buy the new Ruff Ryders album! Miggidy Markell is watching Stay STRAPPED & WATCH ya back or be Assimilated.
Bo Outlaw voided a trade to Houston? Sure. Has this been confirmed? I find it very hard to believe that a player would choose another team over the !Houston Rockets! He must be totally out-of-it, man. ------------------
I say we go after Donyell Marshall now that Bo is no longer available. ------------------ "The day after tomorrow is the third day of the rest of your life." ---George Carlin
Cat5, we would be sending the Magic our exception which would cover his salary.
