Had the draft last night in my pay league, and I think I had a great one. This is a 10 team keeper league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DEF/ST. All TD's are 6 points, unless over 50 yards then they are 9. Pretty standard scoring everywhere else. I'll list the round number before the player, * means they were a keeper from last season. I had the 2nd pick in the draft. QB 5 - Phillip Rivers 12 - Ben Roethlisberger RB 1 - Steven Jackson 2 - Laurence Maroney * 6 - Cedric Benson * 8 - Fred Taylor 14 - Leon Washington WR 3 - Reggie Wayne 4 - Plaxico Burress 7 - Calvin Johnson 9 - Santonio Holmes 17 - Mushin Muhammed TE 10 - Alge Crumpler 15 - Bo Scafe DEF/ST 11 - San Diego * 16 - Minnesota Kicker 13 - Shayne Graham
Nice. Graham is suffering from a hip pointer though, so you might wanna keep a lookout on his status leading up to this weekend.
Was S. Jackson also a keeper from last year? If not, why the hell would a team release him into this years pool? Maka nada sensa.
Not bad, we did a draft last Friday with guys I work with. My team (there are 14 players): QB - Matt Leinart, Jake Delhomme RB - Larry Johnson, Deuce McAlister RB - Ronnie Brown WR - Calvin Johnson WR - Plaxico Burress, Ronald Curry WR - Joe Horn TE - L.J. Smith PK - Stephen Gostkowski, Matt Stover Defense - Dolphins, Panthers You start a QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 PK, and 1 Defense. I know I will be screwed at TE when the Eagles have their bye (unless I want to drop the extra kicker or defense and pick up a TE off waivers).
Our league is setup so that if you keep a player, you lose your pick the next year by 2 rounds from where he was originally drafted. Example, if Drew Brees was drafted in the 5th round last year and I wanted to keep him this year, it would cost me my 3rd round pick. So since Jackson was drafted in the 1st round last year, he wasn't eligible to be kept.
Heck yeah I kept the Chargers Defense. It cost me my 11th round pick. Most of the top defenses were gone by that point in our draft yesterday, and the Chargers surely would have been as well. Using an 11th round pick on the 3rd best Defense in the league last year seems pretty obvious to me.
My team QB: Manning/Matt Schaub (you read right here) RB: Maroney/Lynch/Ronnie Brown/Andrian Peterson/Brandon Jacobs (jacked me up) WR: Chad Johnson/Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnson (lots of Johnson's ha ha)/Jacoby Jones/Wes Welker TE: Jason Witten Def: Baltimore K: Kris Brown
My team rawks, rlly tho! QB- Dan Marino RB- Jim Brown RB- Walter Payton WR- Jerry Rice WR- Don Hutson Flex- Walter Payton TE- Owen Daniels (Homer in me) K- Jan Stenerud DEF- '85 Bears Bring it, TWEEDS!!!
Hmmm. I'll go with... QB - Joe Montana RB - Barry Sanders RB - Eric Dickerson WR - Lance Allworth WR - Tim Brown TE - Kellen Winslow K - George Blanda DEF - 75 Steelers
Check out the trade that I just pulled off: I lose: Donald Driver, Willis McGahee, and Antwaan Randle El (picked up off waivers). I get: Torry Holt, Larry Johnson, and Lee Evans. I believe the guy is overreacting from a couple poor weeks - or am I the one who is getting run over? My Team (after the trade goes through): QB: Vince Young WR: Marvin Harrison WR: Randy Moss WR: Torry Holt RB: Steven Jackson RB: Larry Johnson TE: Benjamin Watson Bench: Ben Roethlisberger, Derrick Mason, Lee Evans, DeAngelo Williams, and Tony Gonzalez. K: Jason Hanson/Shayne Graham DEF: Pittsburgh Standard Yahoo Head-to-Head League
