It's a horrific tragedy, but if we did the same for every horrific tragedy that occurs in this screwed up world, we might as well close down the board. :(

I didn't talk for about an hour today while working, so I already filled my silence quota...

i think that is kind of ridiculous. I'm not sure what that would really accomplish. I can't imagine the family of the victims would be comforted that there was an hour of no posts on a internet message board dedicated to a sports team.

It's nice that you feel you should do something.

I really haven't paid much attention to this story. On Monday, I tuned in for about 5 minutes during the day. And today I made myself watch the nightly news for about 30 minutes mainly to see who was the actual killer.

Call me indifferent, but I seemed to get tired of the story very quickly.

I'm pretty sure there have been 30 random murders in Houston since the new year. Also the war in Iraq thing also. When you hear about 100 people dying in a blast in a market in Iraq once or twice a week, it kind of jades you on the random violence factor.

Isn't it funny that the opening poster wishes for an hour [of] silence (no threads and replies), yet he made a thread himself? ;)

I can't agree with you more man. It's just sickening to watch this guy get the exposure he wanted. There's just so much going on around the world now, and you can't endure it all.

Did he say that? I believe he's referring to the surprise factor. You expect killings to happen in war zones and not at accredited universities.

Nice job jumping to conclusions, though.

What a dumb question. Saying "causalities" doesn't dehumanize those people or make their lives less significant.

An innocent life is an innocent life, whether they live in a place you can't spell or not.

I don't think children ever expect to have their lives taken in a war.

I think it's highly elitist that you qualify your statement with "accredited".

People are just scared as **** because they feel venerable now. No one wakes up in the morning and goes to Africa, Iraq or Afghanistan. Maybe this help Americans realize how ****ty violences is.

    My guess is it won't
