i cant believe in a "must win" type of game that we came out with no intensity in the first half. i was sure that we were primed to turn the season around. i am off the rocket bandwagon for one day only...i will be back on tomorrow! i refuse to believe that a season which started with so much hope and promise will stay this bad. we need to get healthy and get our heart back like the second half yesterday.

This is something I really do not understand. If nothing else, for the past few years, we had heart and defense, no matter what injuries we had.

What exactly happened that both of this is simply completely gone? Why can the coaches apparently not ignite a fire and make the team get the fight back?

I am wondering if there indeed are chemistry issues.

The players don't believe they can win, you can see it in their eyes, and body language.

They are pressing and not getting results......missed open shots, missed defensive rotations, missed opportunties.

Losing breeds losing, just as winning breeds winning....and right now, our margin is paper thin, even with a healthy roster it is a thin margin to win in the NBA.

We are missing our top 2 players, but more importantly our ONLY two crunch time players.

We have no one else to go to at the end of games, and it shows....every single game, it shows.

last night had nothing to do with having go to players...we scored 71 points in the second half...we needed a go to defensive player who could get us a stop. we keep talking about our offense and what we need to do is hold the other team down a little bit. nash is great, but that team is not good enough to score 123 points on us at home! cmon defense, lets go!!!

Nope, some teams you just have to outscore. Don't be fooled by the 71 points, we were chucking up shots and fouling a lot at the end of the game.

It happens when you are behind and trying to make a comeback, not much you can read into defensive numbers from last night.

And we don't have any rim protection on D, the Suns spread us out, and drive in to the lane to open up the 3pt shooters.

When Jordan Hill is out guarding their guy on the 3pt line, we got no chance.....

If JJ is our best D-fender and if JJ is a primo trade possibility then why is JJ not getting some prime p/t?

Last night he would have been a much better option than Hayes.

OMG, this was so evident in Kevin Martin yesterday, he just did not look like he even wanted to be out there it seemed. He was passing on layups and away from plays most of the game standing beyond the three point line. Also, sitting Scola for the end of the 4th was a BS move RICK!

Craig Ackerman was on 610 this morning and basically said what I've been saying for weeks, this team can't defend anyone at this point so lets speed things up. Their desire and attitude are gone and while AB, Scola and Lowry hustle their tale off, they have limitations. Go back to the style they played last last year and just put out an athletic team who can trap and play a frantic pace.

Would this have happened under JVG? Sorry but I have to throw the question out there. I cannot understand how a team can COMPLETELY lose its defensive intensity like that.

JVG was not a great coach. Stop bringin it up! There's a reason why he's not coaching the Rockets anymore. Plus, its not like we can go into the past and change things. Stop reminiscing about the past, let's move on.

and then we traded our Liver away when we didn't sign Artest

and finally we lost our testicles when we traded Landry

No but the roster would be VASTLY different...NO AB, Martin or Budinger.

The weakest type of NBA team is a chemistry team, because once the chemistry goes, it's very difficult to turn things around.

That is very interesting, and I tend to agree with you, chemistry is fragile, and we had 40% turnover in a year.....that combined with the GM always talking about trades etc, can not help their team psychy !

Umm is that not how they are playing now? I swear they have pretty much the same team minus and plus a few players.

I didn't know JVG was the GM too

Not really, they are running more of the motion offense. His and my point was that they should run more, they aren't running enough and putting teams on their heels.

Look at the roster makeup from JVG to Adelman, the coach has a ton of influence on who is brought in.

I suppose you could say that in recent years when our stars have been injured, the players left succeeded because of superior chemistry. They basically made up for their deficiency in talent with working hard and working together.

This year, we again have our stars injured, and we are working hard. But the chemistry (working together) part is lacking.

To take that one element out and us have a .231 winning %, vs around .500 last year. Yea, thats a nasty drop.
