during the finals. He totally wanted the Magic to win. Probably because a sweep meant less money than a longer series, but that punk was totally for Shaq and the Magic. I think he saw the Rockets as unprofitable, where as Shaq and Penny would look better as champs. The NBA hates the Rockets. Willow Bay was there interviewing him. I interupted her and demanded to know why the Rockets were never on NBA Inside Stuff. True story, Ask CbrownFanClub. Fromobile
i didnt know we were in the finals in 96 i thought we got swept by the sonics that year *assumed you meant 95 sorry still in a pissy mood after last night
Well, back then it made sense. I mean Hakeem was by far one of the least marketable superstar (add the Admiral to that group). While Shaq and Penny were "flashy" and "glitzy" and "young and hip", etc. Now, however, there is likely no team in the league than can claim to have two of the top marketable players in the league like the Rockets can. I mean T-Mac is more popular than Kobe/Garnett/or others. Yao has a country of a billion fans firmly behind him. So in our case it just doesn't apply. The Rockets have serious market value with our two young stars. They bring in revenue in more ways than one.
Wait till lebron james gets traded to a better team. Stern will probably personally see to it that his teams wins the finals.
I believe in these conspiracies. I believed that Stern had a hand in getting Patrick Ewing to the Knicks in 1985, and I believe his supporting the Magic in 1995. Stern is one step above Bud Selig. That's how bad he is.
