Even though we're done now, I can not imagine how far we can go with TMac & Yao here next season. Sky is the limit for the Rockets. In honor of a great season, here's some of the great memory I had this season: 1. TMac miracle come back game 2. Yao's great performance against the hot Suns in which he got 27/22/5 3. We went on a hot winning streak on a tough killer road trip, come back 5-0. 4. Serie Game 2 in which Yao Ming and TMac show their two man game, and winning it by a clutch basket from TMac and a pick from Yao. 5. TMac's dunk over SHawn Bradley, ride him like a horse 6. Dekembe's finger wagging 7. Jeff Van Gundy stands up for Yao and gain the love of Rockets' fans. What are some of your great memory this season?
gotta throw that behind the back dribble on the break by Yao. Also the behind the back pass while on his butt by Yao. Also, the one handed rebound and put-back dunk by Yao. Lastly, every 4 pt. play by T-Mac.
Which one? LOL! j/k. There were too many to count. If they kept records of this kind of stuff, I bet T-MAc had the most 4-point plays in history of the league in one season.
- Sura going after Josh Howard in defense of Yao - Yao block that Dirk Flopping Nitwuzzki shot couple of times - Houston Fans showed up in News conference that introduces TMac & Juwan howard and tyrone lue.
Our last home game against the Nuggets when we broke their 80-game winning streak so they would have to play the Spurs, not us. I was at that game and the atmosphere was great. Plus I got a big mac!
"When I watch Shaq and Kobe I see how easy it is for Kobe out there on the basketball court. I look at things like Yao Ming being 23 years old, being able to play the game the right way, and I feel he'll be a dominant force in this league." -tmac Looking at the future of these Rockets, I am reminded of the assurance Michael Corleone gives to his father after Vito says the following: I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life - I don't apologize - to take care of my family, and I refused to be a fool, dancing on the string held by all those bigshots. I don't apologize - that's my life - but I thought that, that when it was your time, that you would be the one to hold the string. Senator Corleone; Governor Corleone. Well, it wasn't enough time, Michael. It wasn't enough time. We'll get there, pop. We'll get there.
That game-winning shot in Game 2. Man, I was jumping up and down. Haven't been so proud to be a Rockets fan in about a decade. Yeah, we lost another first round series. But we also sent a message. The years of mediocrity in Houston are OVER.
For me it has to be the comback against the Spurs. I was in my living room with some Spurs fans (I live in Austin) and they had already started talking s*^t when it began. Their mouths hit the floor when T-Mac hit the winner. Good times...Good times
That's probably the best TMac memory I got. I was in a bar with a few friends, they never think of Rockets as a good team, so they bust my chop when we're down with like a few minutes left, saying "difference between a good team like spurs and a mediocre team like Rockets is so obvious in this game" and writing us off in that game. Then all the sudden, Yao grabs a offensive rebound and put it home. Then plays some great D on the other end, and TMac just went off like a mad man. I'm so happy when we won that game, my friends are saying "damn, this team can go places, with guys like TMac and Yao." I said, "yeah, it must sucked for you guys to be a knicks fans."
I remember Yao getting roughed up by Danny Fortson only to come back down the court the next play and spin baseline on him for a dunk. I remember the Rockets owning the Magic when Tracy returned to Orlando. I remember Josh Childress dunking on Yao when Yao didn't have time to react, then Yao came down and dunked straight up in Childress' face. Touche young man. I remember cursing the day that Jim Jackson was traded, but slowly realizing it was the right choice. I remember Tracy's dunk all over Andre Miller on a fastbreak in the mile high city. I remember losing at the buzzer to the Knicks at home, only to pay them back with a Scott Padgett buzzer beater at the Garden. I remember being blown out by the Bucks...the worst whooping of the season by far, until Game 7.
