I work in outside sales. It's my second week on the job and I have yet to make a sale. Monday will be my third week and im already feeling the pressure. I am a energy consulstant for TXU Energy. My job is to aquire new commercial accounts in a designated territory/zip code. The quota is based on energy consumtion x length of contract my first month quota is 500 mwh. 2nd month 750 mwh 3rd month and beyond 1000 mwh. I am currently in zip code 77074. If any of you have some leads or referrals in the area that could help me out It would be greatly aprreciated. Right now TXU energy is offering energy efficient programs that can result in lower usage which means a lower energy bill.
Here you go... http://www.city-data.com/soz/soz-77074.html You can use whatever means necessary to scare them into a purchase.
I remember the old days of doing door-to-door cold calls. One time it was Kirby vacuum cleaners. Another time it was construction work. The last time (23 years ago) it was Encyclopedia Britannica. I'm glad the old days are gone.
Relax go to the movie theatre Monday check out a good flick or better yet grab some lunch at your nearest adult enterntainment establishment This is why these places are open at 11 am!
I was in sales for seven years. I can offer you some advice: I saw so many new sales guys reaching to sell crap to their friends and relatives to hit quotas. In the end, these resources are extremely limited and you need to learn how to sell your product to complete strangers. That's essentially what sales is. I know you've been 'trained', but you should really go to the top guys in your company and pepper them with questions about selling the product. Think about it: Would you rather learn how to shoot hoop from Hakeem or Matt Maloney? Find a sales technique that fits your personality. Don't try to emulate an obnoxious 'there's no such thing as no' sales guy if that's not your style. Not every sales technique is used car salesman. It's all about staying in your groove. A more comfortable person is a more confident salesman. Also, brainwash yourself into believing that your product is absolutely the best thing since finding out your girlfriend does p*rn. Your confidence will come across in your sales presentations. Don't always go for the BIG SALE! I was top salesman for a few companies going for volume. Not only will going for smaller sales help your bottom line, it will build your confidence. Don't discount certain areas of town. They may be 'poor', but they're paying the bills. There's money to be had, even if it's not a huge sale.
I'm on board with this. There's nothing better feeling than blowing off work in the middle of the day and looking at some boobies while getting wasted. I work across the street from Treasures and it is a constant temptation.
how about a combined solution? Go to the strip club and blow off some steam. Then, send some strippers to your prospective clients. ;-)
