I apologize for any disrespect if this is not Mandarin but I need help finding out what a certain company/website does. Is there a cc.netter out there that can assist? The company is at www.tom.com and I apprecite it.

I don't think there are different "dialects" of written Chinese -- just when spoken. That's how they can commuinicate with each other.

Going by what babelfish.altavista.com has to say, though, it looks like a typical portal website. The actual company seems to be a Chinese keiretsu (if that's not an oxymoron). Hope that helps (at least a teeny bit).

    Chance,

According to my wife who is Taiwanese and speaks Manderin, the site is sort of a Chinese version of Yahoo. It has sports, news, entertainment and such.
