Hey, I'm trying to buy a new cell phone, but I'm not sure which company to go with. For those of you who have cell phones already, what company are you with and how would you rate their service? Thanks in advance!
Depends on where you live. Some companies suck in places and are the best in other places. Also depends on the phone.
I've had Verizon from Albuquerque to Houston to Dallas... and great service / signals all around in between. They also have a gob of phones styles from basic Nokias to new ones with PDA's built in... So I like 'em better than my old AT&T service. Never had any other. BTW- Old school Nokia 5100 series phones are very cheap now, and reliable if you're into a good dependable source of communication without all the color video games and fluff... if you can still find one, they're about $20 with a charger and case included at Radio Shack. -FYI
I have been using a sprint for years and it is starting to upset me because I can't find a quality phone, and when I buy the phone at 200 dollars then two months later it is only fifty dollars because they came out with a new model. Also I don't like how when they lower the rates they don't notify you, you have to keep up and request a lower rate when they are available. I paid my original rate for two years until one day someone told me I could get double the minutes I had for half the price. All I had to do was call to get that changed but I feel someone should have told me from sprint.
Go with Verizon. The best network out there with the highest attainment regarding connection/drop calls. They have some pretty nice plans out there also. Everyone else has pretty crappy coverage. I'd stay away from the Kyoceras (Tech Support says the suck) and Im never really that impressed with nokias. With discounted contract prices, you can pick up a nice Motorola. I'd stay away from AT&T/T-mobile.
http://www.t-mobile.com/products/ and u can get extra $50 rebate on any nokia phone if u can trade in a old nokia (works or not) at http://www.nokiausa.com
Yeah, I just bought this phone about an hour ago. But the deal I got was 10 times better than a free phone! I lied to the guy and said I found a better deal, so he gave me the phone for $35, AND he still gave me the $100 mail in rebate! So they basically payed me $65 to take a full-color phone with a digital camera! btw, I signed for the $39.99 monthly plan like you said! Thanks for the advice!
I have a nokia... uh the little funky one lots of poor people have with t-mobile. I dont like it but it works.
big part of it is. . . WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS HAVE? When it comes to minute that PCS TO PCS minutes add up I have unlimited. . saves me an *SSLOAD of minutes so i don't go over my allotment. If most of your friends are on T-mobile it maybe in you interest to do with them So that you use alot of ya Mobile to Mobile minutes otherwise . . u losing your anytime minutes and run the risk of going over and getting charged up. I've been with Sprint for 4 years now. Since I started with them until about a month ago, I used a Samsung flip-phone. A couple of months ago, the earpiece started fading out on each call...people could still hear me talking, but I couldn't hear them. I went to the Sprint store and they upgraded the software in the phone, etc., but it still faded out. They then told me that they would have to send to phone out to get it repaired, and that it would take 6 weeks. Since my cellphone is important in both of my jobs, I couldn't be without it for 6 weeks, so I asked them what kind of a deal they could cut me on a new phone. They sold me a Sanyo Dual, small non-flip phone (one piece) with web access and the whole schmear, for $50. This was a month ago. I have used the new phone several times a day since I bought it and it hasn't cut out once. I'm happy.
check with neighbors and see what they have and how their reception is where you live... i have sprint and it works great everywhere, except at my house!!
