Agreed. It worked on mine. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hd72pNsv-5g?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hd72pNsv-5g?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I think the Oilers were an appropriate team name for our football team. The Texans is just too weird.
Here's the picture Jim. The guy probably has hot-linking for his images turned off. I uploaded it to imgur.com.
I have fond memories of the "Luv Ya Blue!" pep-rally's we'd have in elementary school in the mid-80s. Those were the days.
The texans was, is and will always be a stupid name for a team. Do they really think, outside of the vicinity of Houston, that they would gain fans from the cowboys. The oilers had a tradition, the texans are just weird.
I like the name, very original, I don't like the uniform/logo. Oh, and the Yankees and Canadiens, the two most popular teams in their respective sports, say hi.
I knew somebody was going to say that, when I mentioned tradition. But, you obviously aren't familiar with Luv Ya Blue. If you had lived through it, which you obviously didn't you'd know that we have other traditions.
Sorry, but the Oilers were losers. Luv Ya Blue was fun I'm sure, but they disappointed, even during their "glory days". And they're still losers now.
A team doesn't have to win a championship to make a city proud to cheer for them. There are 32 teams and one champion a year.
Does anyone here think Bud Adams would sell the name? Perhaps we could start a grass roots movement to buy the name back. Knowing McNair he would need his cut so it could be costly, but I'd be interested to see what the price would be.. Oilers is the original name and the name that Houston pro football team needs to be. period. Texans is some fabricated dallas crap anyway and name stinks. we could get jeff to spearhead the movement and call the site something like returnouroilers.com
as opposed to the 'texans' who are winners?? 'texans' is a dallas name. How can it get any more loser than that?
It will probably never happen, but I wish there was some sort of way we could get retired jerseys back here. Guys like Blanda, Campbell, Moon, Munchack etc. mean nothing to Nashville.
