The chemistry between Yao, SF3, Cat and Cato had been built very well, after a year, Rudy T brought Rockets back to the playoffs and I thought we fought with Lakers in the first round quite well (3 close games IIRC, and that's when all Lakers stars were there). Yao showed his complete games, (all great Yao-Shaq games appeared in Rudy's coaching years) SF3 showed flash and brillances, Cat had been a very reliable shooter... Watching Rockets games were truly enjoyable.

For whatever reason Rudy was gone and what fundementally JVG had brought to us... trade after trade, trade, trade, trade, back and forth, only Yao stayed. I don't have a stats handy, is there any NBA team in history, had changed almost its entire roster within 2 years?

Even worse, is Rockets *as a team* really improved? Put all those injuries aside, was Rockets last year really better than the one in 03-04 playoff?

Even worse, Karma is a b*tch, after trades and trades, injuries and injuries are now following us, Jerry are laughing at us for getting Swift, Slone is pitying us while his worst jazz team of decade can still beat us, Fans are getting mad at National TV for so many Rockets game coverages because they are no longer that fun to watch...

Only thing on my wishlist now: we can stay above .333 before the all-star break.

    Translation:

I miss being tied in mediocrity than a shot at greatness.

Rudy leadership that led us to the playoffs 2 years ago year rivaled Don Chaney's leadership during our back-to-back championships! ;)

I miss Yao and T-mac. Remember when they used to play together. They had some great chemistry, and looked to be on the verge of something special. Too bad that's all over now- oh wait.

Gosh, I'm really getting sick of this " I miss *****" stuff.

History is done, and any hypothesis about it is just futile!

    We gotta face up!

I love watching steve as much as anyone, but I wouldn't undo the trade for anything. T-Mac is on another level. The things he can do when healthy are unbelievable. He makes the game look so easy. Cat, Steve and Yao were fun to watch but they just didn't seem to gel as well as T-Mac and Yao. The team in the second of half of last season was the funnest Rox to watch in a long time. Hopefully they can keep it close (within 5 games of .500 or so) until Yao and everyone else gets back and then make a run for at least the 7th spot.

Well then he should be a happy camper right now because there is no way in Hell you can say that this is a team with a shot at anything BUT mediocrity. In fact, mediocrity would be a step UP for this team.

Are your expectations so high that you expect us to be at the top of the league, even when our two best players (along with several key role players) have missed a large portion of the season?

It's common amongst all teams. Fans love to rewrite history and bash their current set of players when the chips are down.
