Looks like they're a title contender again this year. Everyone thought they were done, but they're still dominating the league. The Spurs are a great organization, I have absolutely no doubt that when Duncan retires, they'll still contend somehow. But for the next three years, they have as much of a chance as the Lakers, Boston do in winning a championship. Richard Jefferson is back. Tiago Splitter has shown great D and is still learning Pop's system. Even their 1st round pick Anderson was pretty damn good before he got injured. The only way I see this team go down is if Pops retires. He's the best coach ever.
The best thing about the Spurs is their mistake-free basketball. Hardly ever boneheaded plays from any of their players. It's awesome to watch. No chuckers, no ballhogs. Just great team basketball.
Seriously guys? I'm a Rockets fan first and foremost but I can't appreciate great basketball when there is one?
Pop is great and the Spurs look good now, but it's early in the season. Let's wait about 60 more games and see how they are doing.
I guess there is not too much great basketball coming from Houston, but that is still not an excuse to like the Spurs.
lol thought this was the nba dish...is there a rule that a rox fan can't like any other team? the spurs are playing great team basketball. To be honest, i am really jealous that we don't have players like they do. also please don't bring that 'no flopers, no dirty players' crap. We have two the best flopers in the league on our team and bowen is probably the only dirty player they had. To be the spurs are a great team that plays hard every night.
This. Notice how they execute out of time outs? Or how about the mistake free executions? And the funny thing is if you look at their roster its not like they're stacked. Duncan is old and almost past his prime, Gino is injury prone and Parker is a bit of a ball hog. Jefferson could fade as quickly as Battier does. You don't hear Pops complaining about how he doesn't have time or how saying "what can you do?" though.
