isn't it blatantly obvious that this guy doesn't want to see a bunch of white guys win a championship? he never gives them any respect, and has picked them to lose every playoff series. tonight, after the game on TNT, they were interviewing Nash, and the question he asked him was "I thought it was clear tonight that Michael Finley won you guys the game. It seems to me like you forget that he's on the court from time to time, and pass the ball to other people instead" (or something of that nature). it's pretty sickening to me, and i would probably would care alot more if i wasn't fervently rooting against dallas, but, whatever... just wondering if everybody was seeing this the same way as me.
theres alot of white guys on sacto. i dont think its a race issue..... i think its a mentality issue. barkley is 1 of the most prolific inside scorring threats ever. and to see a team wuss out inside and settle for running jumpers has got to be a sickening sight for him.... i know thats how sacto plays too. but they also can anchor inside and play through divac and webber.
First time I have heard this theory. I think Barkley dosent respect them because they dont play D and they dont have a center. He also said something like its pretty obvious if you shoot 50 FT's you will win I dont think he mentioned that the spurs shot 48 freebies. You might be onto to something he is defintely against dallas no question I think it is cuz their style of play but you maybe right. On a side note I had some friends tell me that the playoffs is rigged for dallas so a bunch of white guys can win it all thus bringing more fans and attention to the game. Thats ridicolous of course
I happen to agree with that assessment, actually. I'm not really sure if he's against the Mavs, but I agree with that quote.
well, that's barkley people. he's a loud-mouth. we can do nuttin. even if we make rallies against his criticisms, he will still be the same guy. dont stoop to his level. cmon guys, just be a man and just let him trash talk. that's the only thing that he can do now that he is bloated and out of shape. hahaha. the most unforgetable thing that barkley ever did was embarrassing himself with the yao ming issue. that showed charles how dumb he can be. yao really made barkley respect him, not by trash talkin too, but by not listenin and stooping to barkley level and just improve himself. i hope you guys do what yao did. embarrass charles not by stooping in his level, embarrass him by doing it in our level. and that's a much higher level comparred to "SIR CHARLES".
i don't necessarily agree (i think nowitzki's 38 and 15 had something to do with it), but it's besides the point anyway. it's funny, because i was anxiously awaiting charles' turn to talk to nash, wondering how he could possibly swallow his pride and complement the guy, and that's what came out of his mouth. exactly.....i thought it was pretty obvious that barkley was hoping to see ming fail because he didn't want to see a chinese guy dominating basketball either.
Barkeley might not admit it, but I totally agree with the post 100%. I remembered his comment on Yao Ming: "He is good, but he is no brother". In psychology, there is a phenomenon like this: if you have been treated in a certain way, you might end up treating others in the same way. It is typical that people who grow up with abusive parents tend to become abusive themselves. On the other hand, Kenny Smith is much better and neutral.
I think Barkeley tends to generalize people in a way first before seeing that person play. For example, Barkeley would think all white players are soft, but after seeing Ginobilli play, he can change his mind.
that's not it....he knows who can play and who can't, and he's smart enough to realize that there will always be a white role player or two on teams. he's rooting for the spurs, and has no problem giving props to ginobli (who knows? possibly to divert people from thinking what i think), because the fact remains that duncan is the star on the team.
Sorry, I meant that I was agreeing with the "It seems to me like you forget that he's on the court from time to time" part. Dirk was definitely the star of the game (though there's no doubt they would've lost if not for Finley's contribution as well).
BArkley has always liked finley since fin came into the league. REmember they used to play together in the phoenix suns? and barkley always said finley was their best defender, even though finley was just a rookie.. and how hard finley worked on his game in practice.. I guess barkley just wanted to give prop to finley, because people tended to forget about him nowaday. It used to be finley's team... he was there when dallas was nothing, and played hard and stayed in dallas. NOw dallas is successful, and everyone only talks about notwizki and nash, they deserve praises, but finley is still a very good player
The reason Dallas used to suck is that Finley was their best player. Then Nowitzki became their best player and they kept Finley and -- what do you know -- they're a good team now. I like Finley, but Nowitzki is obviously their franchise. You don't make Finley your go-to man when you have Nowitzki on the floor.
As a previous poster said, Barkley is a big fan of Ginobili and before one of the Laker games he said Medvedenko would be crucial to the Lakers coming back. Maybe he just hates Nowitzki and Nash for other reasons? Who cares, I hate Barkley whether he is a racist or not.
Barkley, took up for the white people of Arizona when they voted against having a Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The guy just runs his mouth, if you have paid attention to him over the years, you will know he is just a loud mouth, who randomly picks and chooses what he likes or dislikes.
I remember Barkley once saying of Hornacek " If I had to have my life depend on a shot...on a guy making a shot, the guys I'd want to take that shot would be Jeff Hornacek, Steve kerr, or Reggie."
