I had a house fire at the beginning of January. I lost everything, including my dog. I'm gonna miss you little buddy. No insurance.
Man, that's terrible. I feel for you. I don't have insurance on my things now that I think of it, perhaps I should get some... not that I own anything valuable at the moment though. So what does this mean for you? Will you be able to get back on your feet soon? Hope it works out. I'll be praying for you.
I'm so sorry to hear about that. What a terrible way to begin the new year. Please let us know if there is any way we can help out. Do you need anything -- like clothes, linens, kitchen stuff, etc...? I'm sure Jeff and I have things we can spare. Feel free to send either of us an e-mail and we'll help you in whatever way we can.
Oh man, Htown. That's awful. I will pray for you and your family. From what I have gathered from your character, you will be back on your feet soon. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the support gang, and special thanks for the offer Mrs. JB but I'm fine. I have an Uncle in Ga who I am very close with and I'm staying with him and his family right now. Losing all my belongings sucked, but losing my dog almost killed me. I swear he was more like a kid to me than a pet, and at the risk of being labled a wuss, I shed many a tear thinking about him for the first week or two. Anyway, I haven't been online for over a month, haven't seen a rockets game in a month, missed the Super Bowl and have been generally ****ty. Good to at least have a computer again.
I am happy you have some one there able to help you. Keep in touch and remember to keep your head up!
Damn, that sux. Htown, I just replaced the mattresses on my kids beds. I have two twin size mattresses that are still in good shape. You're welcome to them. It's not much, but if it helps...
I am so sorry.... that's awful. (agreed that the part about the dog must have been the worst )I will pray that everything works out for you.
Don't lose faith man. As long as you got people here and family praying for you only good things will come. The kindness and heart of others always conquers adversity.
Wow. This is so sad. I'm not sure there's anything that I'll be able to say to help you feel any better, but I hope you get started on your life again. I know you must feel awful. Good luck, and I hope you feel better.
Sorry to hear that Htown. You are a great guy and didn't deserve something like this. Keep your head up and let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Sorry to hear that. I'll chime in with Mrs.JB, let us know if there is anything you need or really need. We have a merged household which has already been through one yard-sale but I'd be glad to send you anything that I have that you need. Why don't you start a thread of things that you need. You can edit it as you acquire some things. Please tell me you have children. That would be just the excuse I need to GET RID OF SOME OF THESE TOYS THAT ARE ALWAYS UNDERFOOT!
There is NO SHAME in crying over a pet. When I was talking about my dog with a big gruff guy, he told me "It's ok to cry, big guy." I will always remember him telling me that. Anybody who would call you a wuss for something like that is simply insecure about himself.
I have had a good streak myself lately, so please make a list of things you need and I will help all I can. Very sorry to hear, hope you get back on your feet and sorry for your dog.
