He is signing cheap fa's that can/will produce vs overpaying underachieving fa's. He is doing the opposite of what Rudy T is doing. Rudy had a bad habit of giving outrageous contracts for scrubs. Im not sure about the prior signings, but Jim Jackson has been a consistant scorer. I remember when he used to play for Dallas and scored 20+ points on a nightly basis. With a core of good back up players at a bargain price, we have more money to sign bigger/better free agents or trade for someone who will have a immediate impact.
To me everybody who we have signed so far may not be the *big splash* everyone was hoping for but I feel more optimistic going into this year then any of the last four. In my opinion we have obtained players that know their role and won't deviate from that and when it's all said and done that equates to victiories. Everyone knows when they come here that franchise and Yao are the man and over the last few years it seems that we've had a bunch of wannabe superstars.

I'm pretty sure CD and Jeff talk. CD is not gonna give him a bunch of players who don't fit his system. But, CD and Les always have the last word.
