I hate that phrase. Maybe because people say it after something I said. What it really means is, "I really don't care about what you just said, so I'm saying this just to show I realize you asked a question or made a statement and need a response. It's just my way of being nice to you, dull person."
that is a frustrating because they are essentially agreeing with you but, in turn, they are actually seeking support from you with the "right?". But you are the one making the original point so of course you support what you just said! plus, it leads nowhere and adds nothing.
Only a r****d thinks you're supposed to actually answer when they say "right?". It's obviously rhetorical and they're agreeing with whatever stupid point you've just made! I personally prefer to respond with "Yeah you/they do!"
the difference is the same. the difference is the same of 2 minus 1 as it is for 3 minus 2 I do say "right" after certain things but i dont add the "you know"
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=i+know,+right? 1. I know, right? Indication by one person to another that he or she fully understands what is being stated, and that he or she completely agrees. Joe said,"That darn PSP is one cool game mo-chine!" Bob replied, " I know, right?". 2. I know, right? A way to express the concept of "yes" if you are not quite articulate enough to say that mighty imposing word. "Some people can say entire sentences without communicating anything at all." "I know, right?" Derivative of infamous Mean Girls quote, frequently used in parody of this film to indicate a mutual understanding. Person 1| "That Katie girl is a right tramp" Person 2| "I know, right?"
#1 of the Urban Dictionary post. I always thought it meant you agreed with someone fully when you said that.
Nah he just hates people who use this expression and douchebags with hot chicks and fans of Britney Spears.
