...I've calmed down after my Caucus experience. After reading, listening, to a bunch of you as well as other articles on the internet. I came to a couple of conclusions. 1)I made a mistake in voting for Hillary. I will change that in the General election. 2)I'm still not entirely convinced of Obama or McCain. 3)This is the most important decision we have faced in our lifetime. Who we choose is going to determine our fate. It scares me quite honestly. In the end, I believe we have to take care of this country from within before we start taking care of stuff elsewhere. I'm not advocating isolationism by any means. However, we need a leader that will unite the people. Hillary has proven she CAN NOT. Even tho, the American people have been wrong before with choosing leaders, we need to take that chance. However, without the people of this country united, we won't have a chance at protecting ourselves. As of now, it seems that Obama is the one that people believe in. I get nervous when people blindly rush into a new character like Obama because of his Rock Star quality. We don't need a Rock Star. As I said before, maybe I'm wrong about the guy. From now til November, I will still ask the hard questions for both Obama and McCain. This is NOT a facade as many in here claim that I am doing. I truly am one of those paranoid Independents. I don't trust what our government tells us. I don't trust what all the media says. I don't trust what any of the candidates says. At some point, I do realize that I'm going to have to TRUST someone. At this point, I've clearly narrowed it down to 2 candidates thanks to you all. Now it's just a matter of wait and see on who I trust.
I don't agree with your view of Clinton but I admire your willingness to reconsider your positions based on listening to others. That's a good quality to have. As for me I'm still supporting Clinton but if Obama does win the nomination I will support him as while I have my doubts about him I agree with him on issues regarding national defense, civil liberties and social issues more than McCain.
This negativity has been growing on me. I voted for Kerry the last time not based on his merits. I'll vote for McCain if Hillary gets on any ticket. I still look towards Obama as a pragmatic consensus builder, but if Hillary is strapping on a demolitions vest and hurling herself into his campaign, I'm not sure how effective he'll be come November. I guess that could be seen as a knock on my "faith" for the guy, but this isn't about rooting for a sports team. I also find it very VERY sickening that the Democratic leadership is letting this slide and are condoning her tactics through silence. It's a surreal state of reality for the bar to be lowered even further after the last 8 years.
As I've pointed out repeatedly that Obama's positions are very similar to Clinton's as opposed to McCain's. If you care more about the personalities versus the issues then this makes sense. Hillary might be a cast iron b*tch but I would rather have her appointing Supreme Court Justices than McCain.
