I just got home from a wedding so I didn't get a chance to watch the game, nor did I hear about it at the wedding. However, I knew what the outcome was going to be. David has ALWAYS been a soft center and is a CANCER on this team. He needed to be traded a long time ago. After the demoralizing loss to the Rockets in 1995, I lost ALL respect for David Robinson. Living in San Antonio, everybody KNEW he was a big WUSS. Pops got real lucky to get Tim Duncan to hide this cancer called David Robinson. Now I've seen the Rockets being guilty of stinking up the place. I saw one live in action at this year's ROCKETS-NETS Game. Here's a team that NEEDED a win desparately to stay in the playoff hunt and was going up against a team that didn't have ANY star players playing - no Marbury, no Kenyon Martin, No Van Horn, NOBODY! What happened? They got their BUTTS WHIPPED! They looked liked crap! They just plain ol' SUCKED when they really needed to win. The DIFFERENCE between the Rockets and the Spurs is that everyone down from the players to even Rudy played 48 minutes of basketball. Rudy was subbing trying different combinations, trying different plays, and everybody was trying their HEART out to find a win. The Spurs....just have no HEART! As I have said before, the Lakers are a really good team so I give them MUCH credit. But even the Kings showed plenty of heart on the court. Webber was trying so hard to make a difference. It just wasn't meant to be against this Laker team. Spurs on the other hand not only sucked, but showed no heart and desire to win. I think they took LA for granted in the first game. They bought into their own hype with the homecourt advantage, the best record in the nba, yadda yadda, which I knew was going to be their downfall. That is why I picked the Lakers in 5. Anyways, I hope that the Rockets and other teams can learn from the mistakes of the Spurs. You can't be SOFT in this league. Just as in wrestling, there are no more GOOD GUYS or FACES! Every man for himself. ...I just have to add some more truths to the word ROCKET RICH NY. 1. flak-jacket Cassell is NOT soft! 2. Allen KNOWS he is the best pure shooter in the league, yanking Reggie's torch, who yanked it from Larry. ...lights out guys...just once...I just want to see it once. Oh, and doing it the first game would be really cool.
