I live in Sugar Land and just saw a tornado in the sky...it was in the direction of HWY 6/Sugar Land Airport!
Cool, I have always wanted to see one. Uncool, FOX has to interrupt The Simpsons for 10 minutes to tell me the torando warning is over.
I'm glad you got to see it and I hope no one was injured. I've seen several over the years, which was probably dumb luck... and dumb luck that I wasn't injured or worse (or the people with me). They are an awesome force of Nature, truly. If you ever see one up close and personal you'll never forget it and never look at threatening thunderstorms in quite the same way again. Tornadoes are both terrifying and exhilarating... exhilarating in a way hard to define. I hope I never see one again.
Wow, thats cool was it a funnel cloud or was it on the ground----that has to be the sight of lifetime!
The guy witnesses one of natures most amazing sights and all ya'll want to talk about is the Simpsons. The Simpson's Network would be cool though
I was in the AMC First Colony theatres watching a movie with my wife...I heard two loud thunderclaps but had no idea how bad it really was outside. We needed the rain though.
YO BALLA! I saw it too!!!! FREAKIN HUGE TWISTER FUNNEL CLOUD! But I saw it on TV. It was supposed to be around Mission Bend, New Territory... Man....and my power went out for a sec! I was on ClutchCity too at the time! And Weatherman Billingsley said there was only 30% chance rain and that most of Houston would not be getting rain....and then 15 minutes later....TORNADO THUNDeRSTORm. Glad we are all OK. Yes. Finally rain!
Speaking of natural disasters interrupting the Simpsons, here is a verse from Weird Al's song "Why Does This Always Happen to Me?" I was watching my TV one night when they broke in with a special report About dsome devistating earthquake in Peru There were thirty thousand crushed to death, even more were buried alive On the Richter scale it measured 8.2 And I said, "God, please answer me one question?" "Why'd they have to interrupt 'The Simpsons' just for this?" What a drag, 'cause I was taping it and everything And now I'll have to wait for the rerun to see the part of the show I missed Why does this always happen? Why does this always happen to me? Why does this always happen? (Why) Why does this always happen to me?
That's one thing I love about sugarland. Everything blows in. There are no big trees around ( certain areas have big pecan trees) but over all it is all flat with small trees. You can get great views of the storms that come in. And since there are no big trees there are less mosquitos and more wind.
Wha if they had like Simpsons ESPN, CNN, Weather Channell, history Channell. Then we could get all the news and laugh.
