    I heard it on the radio. It was CLEARLY a joke. He and all of the reporters cracked up laughing when he said it. He was not being serious.

    That is the one thing I really hate about reading stuff in the paper. Journalists are not allowed to use descriptive references...

    "I just hope Maryland doesn't end up in the Final Four," Francis joked.

    It would make it so much easier to read and understand instead of having to guess and what question was asked, what the context was and if it was a joke, serious, etc.

    Of course it was a joke, but was he in the situation to make a joke, after his lies before?

    Had Yao cracked the same joke in refrence to some chinese team playing in Dallas or something. It would have been funny. Even if he had been suspended the day earlier for skipping to go to (insert place that Yao Likes to go to )

    Hopefully the fact that he's joking about it now, means he realizes how ridiculous it was. It might also mean that the seriousness of the issue been way overblown by other people.

    It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I'm glad at least there is some humor coming from it all.

    If JVG just admitted he could have let SF fly out later and not start him... wouldn't that be an equally responsible admission of guilt?

    This was a first offense on SF's part. Not a camel's back breaker, pattern offense.

    JVG is equally responsible for having no UNDERSTANDING.

    I hope he understands now though that the Rockets may have easily thrown the game in protest to his little "power display."

    The coach doesn't win the games. The players do. And that can't happen if you don't let them on the court.

    My belief is that losing 1-game (which we might have lost even with SF), is worth making statements to set the tone for not only this year, but for the rest of JVG's tenure. If we're going to have a coach, let him do his thing, whether you disagree with his philosophy or not. There are not many coaches around who can change who they are and still remain successful.

    And to that I say, "Excellent point.";)

    JVG = JVG

    I just don't agree with the iron fist approach to discipline.

    To each his own. I'd just like to work for someone with a heart. And I can't blame the players for getting upset when chastened like a pre-schooler.
