...For the first time. I was driving home (about 1:45 a.m. local time), and turn onto a kind-of main road near my city's downtown, and there are about 12 people in the street starting to brawl pretty good. I saw one guy get picked up and body slammed. A bunch of fists were flying like a Jackie Chan movie, even a few chicks were throwin' 'bows. It was craziness. The bar must have just let out, and some people had beef with each other. Anyways, I called in and just told the guy that there was a fight, where it was, and about how many people were involved. It was kind of scary, considering it was an empty street, late in the night, and I almost drove right into it.
I had to call a few years ago. i was riding with some friends down Hwy 90 just outside of Liberty. This old lady in a Mini van came by us doing about 100 and almost clipped us and about 6-7 other cars in front of us. I called 911 and teh Liberty cops intercepted her near the city limits. Not sure if she was drunk or having a stroke, but she definitely needed to be off the roads.
Not in Houston, and no, I didn't stick around. Kind of wish I knew what went down. I can find out tomorrow, though.
I called last night. I was going to sleep when we could hear screeching car tires nearby in the neighborhood. I ignored it at first and slept, but this car kept going around and around and screeching its tires for a half hour. So, I got up and called the police. Maybe it isn't life-threatening enough for 911, but I figured this dumb driver could easily run someone over. They say they'll send a car out. My wife and I sit on the bed and are looking out the window to see if we can see this crazy driver. After a minute or so, the car comes down my street fast, and then slams on the breaks hard right in front of my house. Then it turns to pull into the driveway of the small apartment building across the street. It pulls up to the gate (which rolls open with a clicker), stops, and then rams the gate. The car knocked the gate off its track about 4 feet. Then the car backs up, with great difficulty, and parks in the empty lot next to my house. I recognize it as a car of someone who lives at that apartment building. The car is out of sight parked, but then I see a woman stumble across the street from the car to the apartment building. A guy comes out of the building and they try to fix the gate together. As they're working on it, a cop car comes up. The woman goes and talks to him and then he drives away (did he not think it suspicious that a drunk woman was trying to fix this gate?!). I didn't go out because I didn't want any bad blood with my neighbors. But, with the cop gone, I figured I owed it to the apartment owner (who I know better than this tenant) to rat the woman out. So, I called 311 for police (this works much better than trying to find their regular number -- a neighbor later told me they tried to call the regular number when they heard the car, but couldn't find it). The lady went in by the time they showed up again. But, I went and talked to the cops and told them everything I saw. I've probably caused her some grief now. But, I know the apartment owner's going to have shell out a couple hundred bucks on this gate again. And, I hope that ramming the gate was the worst thing she did that night driving around drunk or high and acting like an idiot.
i had to call for the first time back in march. cici's got held up at gun point while i was eating pizza
