We indeed are running a 4 out 1 Flex system.

But get this: Rudy is working overtime with the guys inventing a hybrid Bobby Knight Motion Offense with a Mobley Flex. My sources say that in the works is a revolutionary 4 man motion with Mobley floating freely as a safety valve, but staying out of the way. Apparently this is why we have been doing so many ISOs, cause they are hard at work at the blackboard inventing an entire new scheme, so they have no practice time to work on standard stuff.

Rudy just wants to ride the ISOs while they are practicing the new system. This is also why Dream is whining, because he doesn't want to be part of experimental inventions in his last year.

That is dream news to me, better than trade winds, imo. too bad it was a dream.

Wow... that is actually extremely settling to my stomach to hear. So maybe "Rudyball" is going to take on a whole new meaning soon...

Heh, maybe they'll call it the "quadrilateral" offense...

I just ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. It was pretty good. i think that t is a lot like basketball. And also a lot like the Rockets.

And a lot like dream, too.

Two slices of bread in all of 'em.

I'm terribly happy to hear that Rudy is inventing an entirely new scheme for our personnel. In fact, that's better news than any trade we could have.

But could you explain what the hell that is? A 4 out 1 flex? Mobley as a safety valve? Does this mean the offense is centered around Mobes? If so, why not Steve?

funny you say that Achebe. It is based on geometric spacing with moving angles and overloaded strong-sides. The invention is what they are dubbing "offensive traps". They are keeping the name secret, but I keep hearing trapezoids.

I'm with ya heypartner. Not in the sense that I understand what you're talking about, but I'm with ya. You keep talking about all that "technical" stuff and we may just learn something around here. It beats the trade Dream for Shaq threads IMHO. [IMG]

The one time I actually got to talk to Rudy was during the campaign last year. He, one of the media guys from the Rockets, myself and this little kid shot baskets at this overnight thing we did. He told me that he literally wakes up at night with plays in his head and writes stuff on napkins, etc. He said that with all the changes in personnel, it is difficult to make a lot of X's and O's changes on the floor. Glad to hear things are coming together.

Groundbreaking day for the BBS....one of HP's technical playcalling threads gets more support than a Dream trade thread.....Nah,never happen to many newbies attracted to the glitz and glamour of a trade Dream thread.Anyway keep dropping knowledge on us HP,I must say it does sound an awful lot like a MOBEs ISO to me [IMG]

Oh great! Rudy is drawing up plays while getting drunk at bars. Like William S Burroughs' drug-induced writing. Hopefully Rudy's VCR won't turn into a cockroach like Burroughs' typewriter did.

So HP, is there any indication as to how far along this "groundbreaking" offense has come? If they are using practice time for it, does that mean that we could get a glimpse sometime this season, or is Rudy waiting for a full offseason to get everyone on the same page, since we might have personel change soon. I don't know RunninRaven...I hate to be cryptic like Doc Rocket, but I'm going to have to say that dreams are never very clear. Maybe one of these night my dream will become clearer.

HP, if you're going to screw with us, you might as well do it under the guise of Bob Rainey. [IMG]
