....by a wrecker towing another car. I was also on my way to get a massage because my back has been out for a week. Now, while it felt like he walloped me pretty good, there was virtually no damage to the car. But it's my back and neck that are my primary concern. Like I said my back is already out, so I was already hurting quite a bit. I don't think I was injured, but if my experience with my back has taught me anything, it's that pain and injury can rear its head after the fact. An officer showed up and took a report, which will be available to me on Monday or Tuesday. Anyone have any experience or advice? Should I make a doctors appointment just in case? I've never been hit before; I'm not trying/wanting to screw anyone here....but I do want to protect myself. PS - please keep any jokes about massage-related "happy endings" and getting "rear-ended" to a minimum....
If you're concerned, go ahead and make a doctor's appointment. It's better to have all your bases covered early in case you later find out your back is wrenched out of wack even more so than before.
It doesn't matter who hits/hurts you first, it's who does it last. I would go to a doctor get help. You will probably be a little more sore tomorrow and then some more on Sunday.
"What he meant to say was that his back was fine before the wreck. He was going to get a sports massage because he was so active before the wreck."
Have you been to a doctor about your back? Because if you have, you already have a recent professional assessment of what state your back is in and if you go back and it's worse, you have a case to help you out if you require therapy or something. I can't stand wreckers. I know that they have to get to the accidents to make their money, but the way these guys drive, it's amazing they aren't crashing into people everyday.
I have, but it's not recent....I have a degenerative disc and arthritis, but it's the muscles that get pulled out of whack from time to time. Usually I'm okay as long as I'm careful, but 12 hours shifts on a med-surge unit kicked my butt this week. Suppose I'll make an appointment with the doc just to be sure. Thanks, y'all.
can i make a joke about getting peed on and rear-ended in the same week? what? no? so, hope you feel better man. get that **** checked out!
If you get a call from the insurance company of the person who hit you, say nothing. NOTHING. Tell them that if they want information, you will have your attorney contact them. See a doctor ASAP. The wife of my own doctor was rear-ended and thought she was fine. Several days later, her neck started killing her. It turned out that she had a fractured vertebrae and hadn't a clue. Don't assume you are OK! Consider getting a personal injury lawyer. It will cost you nothing to talk to one. Ask around and see someone a person you know likes, if that's possible. The guy that hit you was, and will remain, an idiot. Remember that, and good luck!
