Tired of Ie pop-ups and such. Someone suggested I get Mozilla so I did and here I am. So far it seems to be doing fine. *Whats this business about having a quick launch icon to start it better? When I went to remove it it said something of it will load slower if I do that, so I left it alone. Anyhow, got this walnut theme, its pretty funny. Anynone have experience/opinions with these 2 browsers.? I've only ever used IE.
Mozilla is a browser and e-mail client bundle, and its quite bloated. Firebird is the Mozilla standalone browser, and is much better. You'll find that it initially loads slower than IE, but that's because IE is always running in the background and Firebird isn't. That's about the only flaw, and I bet 1.0 will give you this option.
Mozilla/Firebird is great because it's got a built in pop up blocker. As with any new software it just takes time getting used to. I could really use either browser, but since I've been using IE for so long, I just stuck with it. Plus my google toolbar does a great job of blocking pop-ups.
I use Netscape (has Mozilla) and it's 1000x better than any IE. I just got sick of the pop ups. At first, I wasn't used to and couldn't stand it, but now I like it a lot. The only thing I don't like is that the scroll button doesn't work on it. Like, I can scroll up and down, but I can't click the scroll button and just move the mouse to quickly reach the bottom of a page. Any suggestions?
Mr. Mooch: you can download an extension that allows you to scroll. Check out http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions.html for a ton of great Firebird extensions.
