From the latest News of the Weird: At a Sept. 15 Pop Warner football league game (kids age 13 and 14) in Milford, Mass., after the home team had conducted a brief, pre-arranged memorial observance (with both teams' players and cheerleaders) for the victims of Sept. 11, the referee nonetheless tossed his yellow penalty flag, assessed the home team a 15-yard penalty for delaying the start of game, and refused to change the call despite outraged protests. That is pretty sad and outrageous. I would be ashamed to show my face if I was the one to throw that flag.
That guy should be fired. I wonder if the league has responded to the incident? Does anybody have any other info?
