I hung out with Steve, Cuttino, and big Kev last night......

and lived to tell all my fellow BBS'ers about it. Pics are on the way. Fortunately my girlfriend brought her camera out that night.

The scene: Ling and Javier (inside Hotel Derek) Houston, TX.

What went down: I saw big Kev arrive around 10:30ish by himself. Its hard to miss a 7 foot guy walking around like he owns the place. Saw him at the restrooms and said hello.... nothing big.

Cat arrived around 11:30 ish with his Uncle Ray (really cool guy).
I told Cat real giddy crap like: I enjoy watching the team despite the record, most underrated player in the NBA, best backcourt tandem, etc. Guy was in a good mood, cool, laid back, and his uncle was even cooler. A little later in the conversation, I was talking to Cat and Ray about Rocket rotations, how I liked our chances next year with Mo T healthy. Cat said that he was really happy with the way EG was coming along, and that he was more of a 3 than a 4. Also talked about how Kenny Thomas was really helping the team.

After a few drinks I decided to test the waters a little further telling him he took some crazy ass shots, but for some reason they seemed to fall in. He told me that he just feels confident with the ball and that he knows his shots. I asked him if he had heard of CC.net and told him that was where the die-hard Rocket fans were. He said he had visited the site a few times, and that it was cool.

Meanwhile Kev is standing like a huge oak tree with his arms folded. Dude didnt say mcuh, and wasn't too happy about the surprise picture my girlfriend took.

A few drinks later Steve Francis arrived. Once again I poured on the giddiness: Congrats on the All-Star start, Kobe is a punk, how are the migranes, etc. After a while he was talking to my girlfriend and even offered to buy us a round of drinks. Unfortunately, our waitress was a ho, and we never got the chance. Steve has a girlfriend, but she wasn't out with him (and no its not Beyonce from Destiny's Child). At one point I talked to Steve about staying in Houston long term. He said he liked Houston and that was about it.

The evening ended, and Steve snuck out but said goodbye to my girlfriend and gave her a hug. Cat and his uncle both gave me the handshake/half hug thing and left. I never saw Kevin leave.

Obviously this was one of the coolest nights I have had in a long time, and Steve and Cat were both really cool to hang with.

 

Maybe I should clarify. Saw him outside the restrooms.....

 

LOL! I dont think I have to worry about that.

 

Kevin was munching on oranges... not really drinking.

Cat had some mixed drink, not sure what.

I think Steve was drinking 7 and 7.

Dont worry, no one was drunk (except me)

And Cato was not there.
