I think our best chance to cause havoc in the playoffs is at the #6th seed. With the 1 2 3 and 4 seed almost locked up, I would love to stay where we are and play Seatle in the 1st round. I think that we could easily advance against them. If we move up one spot we have to play dallas and if we move one back we are going to have to play the suns or the spurs. Our best bet is to stay where we are!

With our schedule we will be lucky to stay in this 6th seed...

If the Rockets are afraid to move up one spot to face Dallas then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

What about if it's the fans who are afraid?

I've been thinking the same thing about the seed. I want the Rockets to move up as high as possible as a fan.

However, I really feel like we will go to the Western Conference finals if we are the 6th seed after beating Seattle and Phoenix and then lose to San Antonio.

i don't have a problem with hoping for a better matchup. the nba is all about matchups, particularly in the playoffs. i'm not saying i want the rockets to tank games to get the right seed...but i'm saying there are certain teams we match up well against...and if, in our efforts to win every game, we fall short and end up facing an opponent that we match up better against...than i'm fine with that! :)

Come on the Rockets can whip anybody. No really it does make sense for us fans to want to see the Rockets play Seattle. But at the same time you want the Rockets to win everygame so if we want to keep winning more games the Rockets probably won't stay where they are. So you can either have it two ways 1) the Rockets stay where they are so they can play seattle which will mean going into that series they did not play great to finish the season and we're just average because they neither moved up or down or 2) they move up which means they were playing great and look to be an above avergae team heading into the playoffs but they face Dallas or Sacramento. So you either want the Rockets going into the playoffs as an average team that stayd put in the 6th seed or a very good to great team with momentum as the 4th or 5th seed.

If It looks like this we have a chance to get to the WCF:

    SA
    Phx
    Sea
    Dallas
    Sac
    Hou
    Den
    LA

    SA
    LA SA
    SA
    Dls Dls
    Sac
    Hou
    Phx
    Den Phx
    Hou
    Sea Hou
    Hou

Thats the way for us to get out. I really think its our best shot unless Dallas drops to six and we get put against Sacramento.

I think we could beat any team, but these would be the best scenarios.

5th seed would not be bad at all

5th or 6th would be best for us because I just don't know if we can take on the Suns but the Mavs and the Sonics should be ok

Remember- We'll have Bobby Sura back as well :p

With this team and Bobby Sura back, we can pretty much beat all the teams in the playoffs other than the Suns and Spurs. I truly think we are the third best team in the West. Tonight, however, might make me think differently if we fall flat to the Sonics. So, it all starts from kicking the trash out of the Sonics.

If we are afraid of any team at all, then we are not in the mindset of a contender. I know, I know, we are not a contender yet. But it's never too early to have a contender mindset. A contender mindset is that we are going to need to beat the best teams to win the championship. It doesn't matter when we face them.

Besides, we need to have the best winning momentum going into the playoffs. Teams who try to "slow down" in order to get a "better" spot never get far into the playoffs.

I thought this before but seeing the Mavs give up almost 80 points in two games to two swingmen got me changing my tune. I don't think dusting off rusty Finley is going to help that much, their defense really did look pathetic.

I think both Seattle and the Mavs--almost assuredly the opponents for the #6 and #5 seeds, are very takable in round 1. I want to us to push hard not to be the 7th seed and have to play the Spurs or Suns however. I still give it 50/50 the Suns get the #1 seed, better than that if Duncan misses games.

So right now we got to win as many as possible to bury those very stubborn and annoying Memphis Roaches behind us. Outside of that I don't care.

we'll all have a better idea of where we want to be after we play the sonics tonight

i think we can beat any team in the west too, including PHO and SA, but there's nothig wrong with hoping to rather play SEA than the other teams.

That's crazy...you always want to beat the best to be the best! The Rox have a shot at the number 5 seed because the Kings aren't plying that well right now and they got rid of Webber. The Rox are like one game back in the loss column. Hey the 4th seed is not out of range either with the Mavs injuries, but they're like 4 games up in the loss column. On the other hand if the Rox don't take care of business, (they've lost like 4 out of 5), they'd be lucky to stay in the 6th seed. Denver is playing great and I still think Minnesota has a burst left in them.

Given the tough schedule ahead, and the recent performance of Grizz and Nuggets, we should be more concerned about staying #6.

Sura may not look as sharp as he used to be. It will take him a couple of games to get back, I am afraid.

    Seatle 41/18
    Mav 39/20
    King 38/24

If seatle don't like to play us, they can easyly to 4th and play kings. So not controled by just us. We still need try very hard
and For our team we don't fear to play anyone and have chance to beat anyone. So just try our best and win 1 by 1.

    Go Rox.

I would rather have 6th seed than 4th seed. I mean, if we wrap up a 6th seed 3-4 games ahead, rest all starters and lose the rest of the games on purpose. I want a 1st round match with Seattle, and think we can take the Suns in the playoffs.
