Trade Mobley for L. Odom (or Marion, or Reef, or Hill) Possibility: Mobley + KT + Collier for Odom and Parks (it works) Reasons: 1. Odom provides more rebounds(8 rpg) and better defense(1 spg and 1.8 bpg) than Mobley 2. At the offensive end, Odom(17pt, 5asi, on .443 fg%) is as good as the Cat(19pt, 2asi, on .432 fg%) 3. Replace Mobley w/ Odom will make Steve a 25+ pt scorer. 4. We'll have an extra $4 million to lure C-Webb and our FAs(Shandon, Mooch, Dream,...) Players' salaries in 2001~2002: Mobley-$4.4M + KT-$.95M + Collier-$1.3=$6.65M Odom-$2.8M + Parks-Free Agent = $2.8M 5. Shandon will like to stay in Houston (maybe even play one more year at his current salary and then get his Bird rights) our line-up for this season could be: Dream, Cato, (Parks) Taylor, Rogers, (Parks) Odom, Bullard, Langhi Anderson, Williams Francis, Norris In The Summer: 1.) use our own pick(#9~#15) to draft J. Richardson, or S. Battier, or T. Hassell 2.) use Milwakee's pick(#20~#24) to draft A. Jones or K. Johnson 3.) use Chicago's 2nd Rd pick(#30~#32) to draft I. Victor 4.) Acquire C-Webb(he will because he know this team will win the championship) 5.)Re-sign: Shandon, Mooch, Langhi, and the Dream our line-up for 2001~2002 could be: Dream, Cato, Jones C-Webb, Rogers, Victor Odom, Williams, Langhi Anderson, Richardson Francis, Norris and you know this team will win the title! what you think? hey ZRB, I want your comment!
So, should I lob this one up for somebody else, or should I spike it into the ground myself? ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
ill take it A train: First of all, any GM dumb enough to trade Mobley for Odom, is dumb, even the Clippers would not do it. I love the Cat, but Odom is gonna be great. Second of all, I don't think having Odom would Help stevie that much. But how about after this trade we deal the Wiz for Vince Carter? ------------------ May I have another Snowball Clutch? Please may I? Ill be a good little mole.... I promise.
Why??? You know you are dreaming if you expect this. This is more realistic: Cato/Haywood Mo/Kenny/Collier Morris/Wiz Anderson/Mobley/Evans Francis/Mooch ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
Well, you've got it: Lately I have really started to change my opinion of Mobley. He seems to have learned from many of his mistakes earlier in the year, and is now taking better (mid range) shots. I would really hate to see him go, because he and Steve make up (or will make up) the best backcourt in the NBA. Lamar's rookie contract looks nice, but what happens when he demands the big money. He would be doing that at around the same time Steve would. I think that Lamar will be better than Mobley when all is said and done, and I love watching him play, but I just don't like the idea of breaking up the best backcourt in the league. A dream trade would be to land Odom and keep Mobley at the same time. That would be three future hall-of-famers on one team... Then if the Rockets come up with Webber, four... What a lovely, unrealistic Dream. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
