You traded away two of the best in the game for a bunch of waiver wire rejects riding hot streaks. You got robbed big time. Of course, that's just my opinion, but I think Phi made out like a bandit here. ------------------ All hail Fadeaway's Cyberfish -- your 2000-2001 BobFinn* Fantasy Basketball League Champions! SSG- You thought you had a bad team before? Pujols-ok Prokepec-maybe Pierre-scores runs but thats about all he does Casanova-Buehrle-Not much help You would have been better off just getting either Clemens or Mussina for those 2. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
Just accepted a trade from PSJ's Hammerin Holograms SSG Raul Casanova, Albert Pujols, Juan Pierre, Mark Buehrle, and Luke Prokopec; PSJ Piazza and Sosa Any thoughts? ------------------
Pujols is just ok...please, he's the best third baseman. Worst case scenario for SSG is that Pujols is equivalent to Sosa (the best at his position) and Juan Pieere gives him Piazza like numbers and the two pitchers stink. He already has Rodriquez at Catcher and desperately needed a third baseman in Pujols, who by the way, is the best third baseman. Obviously I got two studs. No question about that, but this trade was pretty reasonable. Buehrle is going to suprise everyone and Prokopec is decent. You wait and see. SSG you've got nothing to worry about. The trade was totally fair and nobody got robbed. Casanova is a decent backup Catcher too. By the way Pujols had 23 in three games this weekend and Buerhle is averaging 30 plus over last 4 starts. That's better than Pedro, who by the way, I'd be glad to trade for. Who do you want Fade? ------------------ humble, but hungry. by the way, how does REN keep winning. He's not even managing his team! ------------------ humble, but hungry.
You're right, Buerhle is a much better pitcher than Pedro. What was I thinking? Would you consider moving Buerhle for Martinez and Burnitz? Oh wait.. you already traded Buerhle. I guess I'm out of luck.. darn. ------------------ All hail Fadeaway's Cyberfish -- your 2000-2001 BobFinn* Fantasy Basketball League Champions!
Fade, seriously, who do you want? I have a slew of stars. Nobody is untradeable if Pedro is involved. I'm willing to shake some things up. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Casanova is injured: Raul Casanova (C) MIL 6/10/2001 Casanova is expected to miss Milwaukee's three-game series in Cleveland after leaving Sunday's game with a sore elbow, the Associated Press reports. Casanova, who has had problems with the elbow for the past two weeks, said that he felt a "pop'' on a throw to second base and then couldn't swing the bat without pain. "We'll rest him for 4-to-5 days and hope that it comes around with therapy,'' said Brewers manager Davey Lopes. SSG needed a backup catcher like he needed a hole in the head. What he needed was a stud pitcher. Pierre gives him Piazza like numbers???? Paaaleeeease What are you smoking? Worst case scenario for him is Pujols wears down as pitchers learn his weaknesses. Bad trade that doesnt help SSG at all. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
Yeah, at least have the gumption to admit that you robbed the poor guy blind. ------------------ All hail Fadeaway's Cyberfish -- your 2000-2001 BobFinn* Fantasy Basketball League Champions!
You'all can say what you want. SSG, keep an eye on your numbers and that will do the talking. These guys haven't presented any facts. The number's won't lie. If you want Charles Johnson for Casanova just let me know. When I presented the trade on Friday he was fine. They are both pretty much the same, but Charles Johnson does rank 3rd of all catchers so he's pretty good. Just let me know. Finn made an unfair comment, by the time you need him in your lineup he'll be back anyway. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
I hope this does not turn out to be a repeat of the trade I made in Finn's Bball league (Shove it Smeg, Congrats Fadeaway) Here I traded quality for quantity and if the players I got are waiver wire rejects riding hot streaks then it's been one hell of a ride. ------------------
First- in reference to the trade, I don't think it's incredibly lopsided. SSG has more holes to fill than Phi, so trading two studs for five servicable plug-in guys seems reasonable. Piazza is the big player in the trade, Sosa really doesn't have incredible value. Him for Prokepec and Pujols would be fair (even though I probably won't go for it). The reminder of the guys for Piazza while once again, maybe not advisable, still doesn't qualify as an out and out heist. Secondly, I'd love to get other owners take on the waiver wire move to acquire Dreifort. I don't think I'm out of line to be a little pissed that he was snapped up when it was obvious it was a mistake that I let him go in the first place. I also wasn't trying to pull a fast one, seeing how I didn't pick up another player when I dropped him. I simply was trying to move a player from active status to the bench. I made note immediately and alerted everyone to the mistake and still someone picks him up. I'd like to think that although competitive everyone is intending to play with some degree of integrity. ------------------
Who picked him up? Whoever it was must not have seen your post in the rumor mill. Lets see if we can straighten this out. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
It was SSG. Song, Arthur posted in the rumor mill that waiving Driefort was a mistake. He was trying to put him on the bench and accidently waived him. Please rectify this situation by waiving Driefort so he can return to his rightful owner. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
Sorry CJ, didn't see it at all; consider it done P.S. I gotta start reading that thing I'm really getting worked in there.I would like to reacquire El Duque (The guy I waived for Dreifort if that's possible) Sorry about the misunderstanding CJ. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Summer Song Giver (edited June 11, 2001).] [This message has been edited by Summer Song Giver (edited June 11, 2001).] [This message has been edited by Summer Song Giver (edited June 11, 2001).]
Oh no problem Summer Song Giver, mistakes happen how do you think Dreifort got on the waiver wire to begin with. It's cool. Don't worry bout it All fine examples of things you could have said to me after I apologized ------------------
I'm glad you just hadn't checked the rumor mill. All's cool. Thanks for rectifying everything. Take it easy ------------------
SSG- Your integrity was never in question. I knew it had to be an oversight. Thank you for your promptness in this matter. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
