I have very recently relocated to LA, I have not watched many Rockets game, so I could not post my opinions here. Now, today, I saw them , against my new "home" team. Wow! What a bad team. I think Hakeem is all talk before he came back about how he was going to contribute. The guy is playing for pay-check. This is a leaderless team. I wonder whoes job that is. For Rockets, Pick'n'roll is probably as hard as triangle to learn, except Lakers are getting that triangle down quite well. I only hope Rockets would get as many talented players as Lakers have and still loose like crazy, so even a blind person can see it is an inept coach that is the biggest problem on this team. Right now this "lack of talent" excuse is like a woman's skirt for him to hide. It is like "ohh, poor Rudy, only if he had talents on his team". So tommorow night, GO CLIPPERS!

I hope Houston gets that arena built!!!

I was starting to wonder why no one was still calling for Rudy's head. It's because Caveman moved to the land of silicon, and I ain't talkin about the valley. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle...

No offense to Dream but if he plays next season he will only slow the re-building process to a crawl. Never have I seen a player go from being pretty damn good to being a non-factor. Kareem didn't even do that on his farewell tour. If he's tired, then let him rest....at home. No disrespect intended....but for $16 million next season...he is not even worth that much. I know...he's done so much for Houston. Yeah...
and he got 2 championship rings for it...am I supposed to feel sorry for him? Not at all. He WAS a great player. Now, he just doesn't care if we win or lose because he's done his bit for the Rockets. We don't need a center with a lackluster effort and/or attidude....we need a younger, hungrier replacement to work with Cato. He's obviously got something wrong with him if he's tired all the time...either that or he is old. But, his dropoff in contributions is SIGNIFICANT enough to not warrant him coming back next season. I wish he would prove me wrong but I know he won't. Stick a fork in him...he's done.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with Dream,he just does not have the conditioning that is necessary at this point in the season. This is because he was injured and he is old, but hopefully next season he will be better conditioned and can do more for the team. I seriously think that the Rockets are tanking the season, cuz when I watch them play, it seems as if they are not even trying to win.

Surfguy: If Hakeem plays next year like he is playing now, I COMPLETELY agree with you.

heypartner: I wish we could blame this one on the little aliens from SpaceJam, but I think this one's just old age.

    UniversityBlue: yep it sure does.

R0ckets03: I hope like crazy the VOTERS (not to be confused with Rockets fans) can see past this season when they vote.

The way I figure it folks we are probably going to win 10 or so more games the REST of the SEASON. Where that puts us in regards to lotto picks, I have not fully deciphered. I would have to pontificate (there's a four dollar word for ya') on the future records of the other lackluster and crappola teams in the NBA, and since ESPN still refuses to pay me for my obvious brilliance, that might take awhile in my free time. I will get back to the board with my results after some heavy statistical analysis (but don't hold your breath, like I said this might take awhile). Props to all of us who still believe, hang in there, these dark days shall soon pass in lieu of sunshine, because, my friends, we are NOT the Clippers. (Thank you LORD!) [IMG]

You know what guys (and gals, gotta be P.C.) that was not nearly as time consuming as I thought it would be. Barring some miracle (i.e. the magic Rocket lotto ball dropping), evn if we do tank, BEST case scenario is we pick 5th moving past Vancouver. What makes me so sure you ask? The first four slots are UNTOUCHABLE as far as records go, we are not going to reach the coveted (hehe) sub .300 mark even if we do tank. Here's what the standings are as of today:

    TEAM Percentage Last Ten
    1.Clippers .211 1-9
    2.Bulls .222 3-7
    3.GS .273 3-7
    4.Wizards .286 1-9
    5.Grizzlies .327 5-5
    6.Houston .375 2-8
    7.Cavs .400 3-7
    8.Nets .400 5-5
    9.Hawks .415 5-5
    10.Celtics .418 3-7
    11.Dallas .426 6-4
    12.Denver .455 4-6
    13.Orlando .446 5-5

While I expect some fluctuation in the 7 and above slots, 5 and below should stay pretty stagnant. Of course this is all just my humble opinion... [IMG]

Olajuwon (and Cato) not being in the line-up help Houston in regards to draft position.

    Whether it's intentional, that's debatable.

Rockets loosing alot is bad for the arena deal. These stupid ass people in Houston will be like "Oh they suck, who cares if they move". Then in 3 or 4 years they can freakin whine about Baltimore Rockets being in the Finals. But if they lose alot, get a high pick, and somehow attract a big name free agent over here, the fair weather fans of Houston might be convinced.
