We’ll be lucky if he can be Thaddeus. Thaddeus was a solid playmaker and could put the ball on the floor. Jabari has 45 overall handles. Only time he can put it on the floor is when he grabs a board and pulls up for his patented brick with no one in position to rebound.
He’s a disappointment for such a high pick.. Not much else to say. He doesn’t seem to want to dominate on a consistent basis and his jumper is overrated.
And he has had coaches that consider him a default starter no matter how he plays. I would rather give Amen or Tari that position instead of him. I just dont get it. A better coach would have started Tari already.
i watched some Auburn highlights to go back and see what we missed... and 1 minute in i find it so odd that his shot has tons of arc. what happened? his shot in the NBA has been flatter than a pancake.
Exactly. Don't know what happened to his shot. The shot still looked pretty good earlier on. It gets flatter and flatter. He needs to go back to practice with that Noah shooting thing.
Well he's basically done if he can't shoot. He was supposed to be Rashard Lewis with better defense...now he's looking like a 3 and D without the 3. No idea why his shot looks so different from college but whatever he's doing now ain't it.
Does everyone think that Keegan would have been the better choice? Although Jabari is still young and can still develop in to a solid starter albeit not at the level of Paolo or Chet
Funny that someone brought up his Auburn highlights… I had found those this morning randomly, and watched 20 minutes of our guy. His 3 had arc to it, he drove to the basket with authority and stuffed over a number of players (granted, college talent, sure, but the aggressiveness… where did it go). What happened, Jabari? He could get away with a looser handle in college, obviously, but the aggressiveness and his jump shot looked very different. Not sure what happened. He looks like he’s regressed. I know nba talent is a different story, but dude looks like a mediocre bench 3 and D guy who isn’t really that good at either of those things. Tari needs to go into the starting lineup, and have Jabari come in off the bench. At this point, Tari seems better at pretty much everything. Jabari was supposed to have a smooth stroke, but Tari is the one shooting 40% from 3.
Bingo. I would not say he is totally useless but without a good, steady shot he is basically worse than an average role player. All depends on it.
I think hindsight is 20/20. He really was the best prospect on the board at #3. There really was no reason to assume Sharpe, Keegan or Ivey would have been better. Many teams passed on JWill so I don’t really include him in that conversation. I don’t blame Stone for making the pick; 99% of GM’s would have. But sometimes players just don’t make the transition to the nba the way you think they will. Bari has had a tougher transition than several of his peers. At first I just thought it was because he was super young and Steven Silas was his coach. But with no touch on his shot, the lack of shot creation ability, below average athleticism, his soft play…I just don’t see him being a dominant player. Of our core 7 the only pure shooter is Reed (who won’t shoot). Id give Bari most of the season to take that next leap, but he’s not a starter right now and is still living off his #3 pick status when Tari should probably getting those minutes. honestly Bari might benefit from playing more at the 5. If he packs on more muscle I could see him being pretty successful there. Right now he’s a 4 that doesn’t space very well and can’t but the ball on the floor.
He was not......I think this was one of the worst scouting reports in years...... Of course it is hindsight, but you can effectively fire those scouts, you can make the scouting much better. No Offense though.
He plays a role in it as the pg. Similar to how folks blamed kpj for the stalling the development of green and every other youngsters for sucking at play making. Folks like to downplay the effects of subpar play making. I wouldn't say harden would make bari mvp but u can bet your a$$ he would make passes that will set up Bari for greater success. Can't say the same for fvv
Benching Jabroni would lower his trade value, that’s the only reason why he’s starting. I still remember how giddy with excitement clutch was when they drafted Jabroni. I personally was never high on him. He was just a shooter in college who couldn’t create his own shot.
