I think he did a good job with little to work with his last years in Sac Town.
I cannot say we will get to the second round again
    but
I think we shall see some entertaining basketball
and we will challenge folx every night

Will he even stick around beyond his contract if we're in rebuild mode? Just asking.

I hope he does, but if we can rebuild on the fly I know he will.

RA has done it before in Sac town in his last season there. I am sure he will have the team ready to compete in every game.

Those of you saying he did it in his last season with Sacramento, what did he do? I didn't really follow the Kings. That year he apparently had a team that had Artest, Peja, Bibby, Brad Miller, Bonzi Wells, Sharif Abdur-Rhaim, Kenny Thomas, and a young Kevin Martin. Artest and Peja only played part of the season, but when you have Kevin Mart, Bibby, Brad, Bonzi, Sharif, etc. still on the team, I think he may have had a bit more to work with than he has here. I mean, as it stands, we have our bench from last year starting. If they go down, we plug in the peanut vendor. :D

I know where you guys are coming from, and hell, who knows, Adelman may pull off a decent season. I'm not expecting much from this season - I just hope it's a bit fun to watch.

well je did more than JVG doing with YAO ,TMAC and the rest of the team against a San Antonio team that won the championship. And he also did the same with us here against the NBA champs as well

With Artest and Peja out . .. the best players are bibby and Brad Miller

Maybe Brooks and Scola can step up
Landry and KT equal out .. and i like both
    never should have traded KT
    Ariza = Bonzi?
Sharif = more offensive chuck hayes [just kididng]

He had some things to work with
    but
    Rockets will do well IMO

It might have been the year they Kings took San Antonio to 7 games lead by Ron Art... Oh wait nevermind. It was BONZI WELLS that man handled the Spurs. "Spurs Killer". I think it was that year anyways...

Rudy won what 45 games with Steve and Cuttino? Lets see if Adelman can hang. I think so. But unlike Rudy he wont rework the offense so drastically.

Peja was injured, but Artest was there for the 2nd half of the season and played in the playoffs. Brad averaged 15/8 during the regular season. Artest was 17/5, Bonzi was 13/8, etc. They were like a lot of SAC teams during the regular season - no clear main guy and a lot of 20-30 minute guys.

Yeah, I agree with this. I hope they can, anyway.

KT was a 9/7.5 guy in 28 mins/game on a team with good F's. He had been a starter in the league and was a solid player. Landry has shown flashes, but hasn't done anything to warrant major minutes yet.

Bonzi was an offensive player who ignited in the playoffs and carried the team basically. Ariza is a defensive player who made key plays in the playoffs. I don't think they're comparable, but who knows what Ariza could develop into.

Fire hydrants have better moves than Chuck Hayes. :)

From thinking about this further, the only thing I can think of is that there's too much uncertainty to say what the Rockets will or won't do. Even many of the players we have are too new to know how they'd play with extended minutes. I'd rather wait to see what additional moves we make and pray we don't get hit by injuries again.

The series was 6 games and I'd let anybody kill me if it means advancing in the playoffs. lol.

I hope so. Like I said, I just hope it's fun. That Steve/Cuttino team was sometimes great to watch and other times you wanted to throw your shoe at the TV. The key is how our young players mature and who else we may pick up this off-season. It's all a big toss-up to me.

It occurred to me reading all this talk about "who will create shots for Rockets without Yao/McGrady/Artest" that the answer may well be Rick Adelman.

That offense, with good enough passers, cutters and shooters, can make up for plenty of deficiency in the "offensive starpower" department.

The flip side of the absence of our best offensive weapons is the absence of our ball stoppers. So perhaps that Sacramento style offense will be dusted off by necessity. .

    BINGO

i gaurantee next season will be our most efficient offensive year in 10 seasons, even without any superstars.

Unfortunately, I don't have faith in Adelman's system given our personnel. Not only do we not have any scorers, we don't even have any facilitators. In general, our players don't have good handles and aren't good at pressuring opposing defenses.

When your best offensive weapon is Luis Scola, how can you expect to have faith?

I definitely agree with the OP here.

I really like Coach Adelman, I think he's done a great job all things considered. I mean, looking at the last couple years with players like Tracy and Yao going in and out, combine that with the minor injuries here and there that always happen like Shane and Ron, I don't think it's any surprise that Coach A was in the running for Coach of the Year.

I think he'll give us a good, interesting season with a bunch of guys who will go out and play hard.

I like having Coach A in this situation.
