Over the past two weeks, I have found myself watching the O'Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel every week night (except if the Rockets are playing of course). IMO, I just don't see how anyone can dislike Bill O'Reilly. The guy lets both sides have their say on issues. He always provides evidence to back up his claims. He mentionsthat i could be wrong on his side of issues. He doesn't kiss up to his guests. He is passionate about what he does. He truly cares about ridding evil in the world. Then he is not afraid to bash his guests right in front of their faces if they say something that he believes is wrong, or just outright stupid. That is pure guts and no fear. I respect him a lot for that. And frankly, him bashing guests is funny as hell. His show is like a comedy program. One night he told a very scholarly looking guest that "he was living in the land of oz." I realize that he says that phrase a lot, but the first time I heard that, I had fove straight minutes of hardcore laughing with my dad. I don't know how I survived it.
darn no edit: What do you guys think of Bill O'Reilly? I have also gotten into the Sean Hannity Radio Show. What do you think of him?
I agree. He puts his opinions out there, but is not nearly as bad as Bill Maher's horrific "Politically Incorrect."
I used to like O'Reily, but then I realized he lies about the whole "no spin" thing. I also think that his crusade against rap is getting ridiculous. I completely ignores groups like the Jurassic 5 and the Roots because they would prove him wrong on his stance of calling it mind poison.
What do I think of O'Reilly? Too easy. What do I think of your love of his show? Sheep love a sheep herder. I don't know why. I guess they're just simple that way. Keep baaaaaaing. We'll have need of your wool come Winter.
note to self: holding different political ideologies than Batman Jones makes one a sheep. convenient.
Wow, Batman.... Didn't realize you had anything of value to say..... remind me when you do. O'Reilly's show reminds me of Politically incorrect when it was on CC. Bill tended not to constantly interrupt people with his views, and the show was a hit.. Should've stuck to that. (God, what a moron he turned out to be.)
I agree with you, JBIIRockets. O'Reilly, while not perfect (that Irish temperment boils up now and then), is better than most at allowing all sides of an argument to air. Hannity is okay. My all-time favorite conservative radio host is Barry Farber. He used to have a show with Allan Colmes (Hannity's partner on Fox) called "Left to Right." it was great stimulating discussion. They may still be on the air.... but not in my market. We have lost virtuallly all the talk radio shows except for Rush. Another one I really like is MichaelMedved.com. We no longer enjoy him either.
I went through a phase where I simply could not miss his show. When he first came on the air I think he was almost independent, like he claims to be still. I guess after the years his true conservative colors came out. BTW-During the hanging chad debacle there was not better entertainment on TV. I swear if they released a DVD set of his episodes during that time I would scoop them up. Awesome commentary.
Ugh. Since it'd be hypocritical for me to not allow you to continue to come watch basketball with us, but still allow TheFreak, you're still welcome. I just can't stand that egotistical, ratings-hungry ass. Hannity's not much better, but I think I'd like him more if Fox didn't pair him up with Alan Colmes, his liberal r****ded stepbrother. However, I've found that I can't really stand any talk show hosts, regardless of ideology. It's too migraine-inducing to watch people who scream at each other for no reason. Good thing this BBS doesn't have some sort of voice function.
O'Reilly is a tool. If he feels the least bit threatened by one of his guests he starts interrupting. Sad thing is that many people are simply too dumb to form their own political views, and just buy everything he says, hook, line and sinker.
