I think the rockets are gonna trade Bosjan Nachbar and someone else for Lewis. I don't know why but somebody in another thread said that the rockets might feel obligated to get rashard for passing up on him in the draft, and saying they would pick him up.

To tell you the truth i hpe we keep Boki.:)

Keep Boki-Lewis expects maximum money and is worth no more than 6 mil per year. I hope Seattle gives him the max.....

I would have mixed emotions about it. Early on, I would've traded the 15th pick along with a couple other players for Rashard in a heartbeat, but that was before I realized we could get Nachbar. I think Lewis could eventually become a superstar, but I don't think that's what the Rockets need. They need a strong, consistent role player, which is what I think Nachbar will become. But then again, I predict that Lewis will become the best 3-point shooter in the NBA, wheras I'm still kind of confused of how good a 3-pt shooter Nachbar is. Either way, if they could just get some strong outside shooting from the SF, I'll be happy.

However, it will be nearly impossible to make this trade because of Rashard's BYC complications.

First off, the Rockets do not owe Rashard anything. The Rockets are not obligated to make a move for Rashard unless they ( Rocket's management) decide that a move like that would be in the best interest of the team. I don't see how it would be in the best interest of the team since they would be forced to pay Rashard handsomely for his services which would present alot of cap problems down the road when we need to lock-in certain players( EG, Ming, Steve, even Cat).

Is there any other evidence that you have about this trade rumor besides the "feel obligated" reason?

I have this gut feeling that Rashard will never be a Rocket.

    never.

Stevie Francis you are a load of baloney!Your statement of a probable trade does not make a logical truth. So I say its a post to stimulate talk, no truth in it ?

I wonder how many guys in any draft get lied to about teams' intentions? Isn't that just part of the disinformation game?

Poor Kareem Rush. Supposed to get picked by Indiana at 14 and instead gets shuffled off like chattel to the Lakers.

How many players were picked by the team they expected to pick them and how many got bitterly by-passed?

Couldn't Rashard have come to Houston last year when there was clearly a place for him?

I wish I had to settle for $8 Million and live in Seattle.... :)

    [George Carlin rant]

Anybody else have trouble understanding the phrase "i hate to say this but...."? If you hate to say it, then don't freakin say it! Even worse, don't waste band space with a new thread to post something you hate to say.

    [end George Carlin rant]

Why would you want Lewis? Nachbar can shoot the lights out and has speed to burn.

I don't think the Rockets feel "obligated" to get Rashard, I think the fans who are upset the Rockets passed on him feel the Rockets are "obligated" for whatever reason. Teams pass up on talented players all the time. I bet that if Rashard was from Oklahoma there wouldn't be nearly as many people saying the Rockets were "obligated" to pick him up. They would be saying that getting Rashard was a gamble, and they were a title contender and couldn't afford a gamble like Lewis. But since he's from Houston there are STILL people raking the Rockets over the coal for passing him.

Any trade for Rashard would involve a third, maybe even a fourth team, to offset BYC complications. Is he worth that much trouble?

And is he worth the money? Now that teams are wary of the luxury tax and over-paying players, I hope Rashard and his agent can be happy with Shard getting a starting salary of $6 or $7 million.

I know it's Rashard's decision who he signs with, and Seattle should try to get the most out of a S&T for him, but I don't really think they want Nachbar that badly. Didn't they just draft Vlad Radmanovic to man or back-up the SF position? He and Nachbar are both sweet shooting Euros. Granted, Radmanovic has a better outside shot right now, while Nachbar has superior handles and driving capabilities, they are pretty much the same kind of talent and the Sonics need post help. Seattle will probablly try to go after a 4 or 5 in a trade regarding Rashard.

Add a few cuss words in there, and then you'd have a George Carlin rant. That's more of a Jerry Seinfeld Rant :)

The guy is telling you what he thinks will happen, and you guys are flaming him. What the hell is going on? Did I miss something. I can understand if he was putting the Rockets down or being an ass, but he just made a simple statement.
