Well, we’re now on the cusp of my least favorite 3 months of the year and here’s why. My wife is a teacher. Most of my friends are band directors. Several of my family members are teachers. This is the time of year they like to RUB IT IN MY FACE that they are about to be off for 3 months and I still have to get up and go to work every morning. Nothing sucks worse than getting up and getting ready while your spouse is sound asleep. No football, no basketball. Only baseball. As a Houston sports fan, it’s easy to see why this is not an inviting prospect this particular year…. Hot weather. I hate having to exist only in areas with air conditioning for 4 months at a time. I’m an outdoors kind of guy, but not during a Houston summer. Hurricane season. For the next 4 months, we get to constantly check the tropics to see when the next Ike is going to bear down on us again. Sky high electric bills. See #3. Man, September can’t get here fast enough!! I'm already itching for that first cool front of the Fall...
I'm with you ima, I also hate summer. One of these days I'm going to move away from Houston so I can actually enjoy a summer for once.
Sorry drummer. I guess I will wait a day or two to create my annual countdown to the end of my school year (5 days)
All of your reasons (with the exception of #1) are specific to Houston. Maybe you should move somewhere else. The next three months are the sole reason why 10 million people call the Chicagoland area home.
HAHA Im on longterm disabiltiy and Boots is retired. Aint worked in 16 yrs lol....My bud Dons stilla repoman like you, he hatin us HAHA ............funny because Dons always hollerin bout me and Boots beeing shrimpers lol BUT HELL I DONT SHRIMP AND I DONT FISH
Hell yeah. I've always said Chicago in the summers is one of the most beautiful cities in the world--too bad we have to live through the frickin BRUTAL winters to get to it.
I hear ya, ima on your points but I can always handle 100 plus temperatures compared to temps below 30 and snow and ice and all that crap.
yeah, you may dislike it, but move somewhere else (besides california) and then see how you like the year. i'd rather have houston summers than DC winters... and DC is ridiculously mild! (I assume it's due to growing up in houston)
You forgot pesky mosquitos!!! I love the summer...I get to go swimming! I can deal with hot weather...I get chilled very easily, even in 70s. I'm gonna be suffering from basketball withdrawal big time soon! The playoffs have been supporting my basketball fix so far.
You are a very odd one, and that's saying something considering you only have 15 posts. Lol. What's even funnier is the website you put in your sig is an outdated one that redirects you to their current one. Just odd.
Word. I have to do some work outdoors from time to time, and being out in the sun in a full on worksuit over your regular clothes for an hour straight is pretty damn annoying.
