Please feel free to use this thread to bash the hell out of this moron. 1. He was a crappy player 2. He was a crappy head coach (didnt he retire so he could spend more time with his family) 3. I guess not becasue now he is a gawd awful commentator on TBS/TNT Bash away please.............. ------------------ "Chucky who?" Charles Barkley
Drewdog- Sorry I like the way he played. No he didn't have alot of ability but he made the best of it and was so gritty. The Rockets could definetely use somene like Ainge, who always plays hard. But his coaching was nothing spectacular and never have paid much attention to his commentating..
Ainge was NOT a crappy player at all. He was one of the best shooters I have ever seen and always played hard, hustled, and scrapped for whatever he could get. Much like Jeff Hornacek, an overachiever doing what it took to make up for lack of athleticism. I wish some of our Rockets had the fire Danny used to have. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
And he also likes to throw basketball's at Rocket players!!!! Hes a F@#$KIN' PR@CK!!!!! ------------------ "Chucky who?" Charles Barkley
Hakeem threw a punch at a guy, would you call him a crappy player, and a "F@#$KIN' PR@CK!!!!!"? ------------------ Dream a deadly Dream. . .
I liked Aiinge too. But then again, there are several players I like that are widely hated on this board. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan
I think ainge was pretty cool. By the way, I once played against one of his sons in a summer tounament. ------------------
Ainge's piss-poor defense cost Sir Charles a ring, for that he can never be forgiven. ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house! [This message has been edited by Hydra (edited February 02, 2001).]
Don't drink and post.... Ainge's defense had little or no impact. They would have lost it regardless. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Time running down, the Suns up two and Paxon hits a WIDE open three to eliminate them. I would say that Ainge's (lack of) D had considerable impact. Charles was playing like a man possessed that year and home court seemed to mean nothing in the series. ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house!
Actually, Ainge did what he was supposed to do on that play. Jordan passed to Pippen, Pippen penetrated near the top of the key, Westphal made it clear, keep MJ out of the middle, and NO penetration for anyone. Ainge came over to help on Pippen, as he had beaten his man, Pippen passed to Grant, Ainge then rotated towards Grant because he was open, thus leaving Pax open on the arc. So, who should have rotated to Pax??? Grant's man right? Who was guarding Grant in that game? ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Take your time, but I will give you a hint....his initials are CB. *humming jeopardy theme* ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Like him or not, you have to admit Ainge brought his A-game EVERY night. Probably why I liked him as a player. ------------------ GATER
I actually like Ainge's commentating. He's not afraid to funnily bash a player. I like how he defends the shooters while John Thompson always defends the big men. ------------------ Hakeem, Hasaw, Haconquered.
Well thank goodness Ainge prevented the possible game tying J from Ho Grant and only allowed a dagger through the heart, say bye-bye to your dreams of a championship teammates 3 by league leading 3-point shooter Paxon. ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house!
Hydra, I didn't think you'd answer my question. Anyway, if you have played organized ball, you would recognize that what Ainge did was the proper defensive rotation. Barkley should have rotated to Ainge's man, Paxson, but he didn't. Regardless, you are reaching if you say that Ainge's D caused the Suns to lose. The Bulls had that series won with or without Paxson's three. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Are you guys crazy ? Hakeem threw a punch over an argument in the heat of the moment. That is called letting your emotions get the best of you. Aingethrew the ball at Mario's head on purpose because he is a vengeful loser who can't play defense. Screw Danny Ainge. ------------------ "We don't have any plans. We just plan to win." Mack Brown
How do you know that Ainge didn't just 'let his emotions get the best of him' in the heat of the moment, like Hakeem? ------------------ The whole world we travel with our thoughts, Finding nowhere anyone as precious as one's own self. OK, let's crucify everyone in the NBA that has ever gotten into a fight or a scuffle in a game. This thread is, or was, about Ainge. My all "FUC$%N PRI*&" team: Malone Mourning LJ Camby Van Gundy Laimbeer Dennis Johnson Jerry Sichting Bird Magic Reggie Miller MJ You name them, they have all had some kind of scuffle or done somthing stupid on the court. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
i never liked ainge..he is the kind of guy you would want to beat up..i feel the same about stockton sometimes.. but i am getting better since i started taking my medicine.. ------------------ they say the meek shall inherit the earth
