So I entered this thing called the Losers Pool. It's basically like Lil Pun's Survivor Picks, except you pick a loser each week and you can't pick the same team twice. It was a $100 entry fee, of which I split with my brother and 2 friends (themselves brothers). There were a total of 1101 entries this season and it's winner take all (in case you need to see the math...$100 x 1101 = $110,100...$110,100/4 = $27,525 ea.). Going into week 13, the pool was down to 31. We were one of 18 who selected Denver to lose @ the Jets. It was all too perfect. Denver had just lost 31-10 at home to a horrible Oakland team. The Jets were on a 5 game winning streak and looking like a favorite to win the AFC. My team made the pick democratically. I wanted to pick Cleveland to lose at home to Indy. My teammates thought we were a lock this week and wanted to hold Cleveland until next week when they are to be @ Tennessee.

Then, that Brett Favre showed up. He didn't throw 5 INT's. That was mostly because he couldn't have hit the ocean from the beach. I never truly expected to win. Lucky things like that simply don't happen to me. I'm lucky if I even get 1 number on a Lotto ticket. But this one hurts and I blame Brett Favre and the jets for my misery. I now put them in a tie for my most disliked NFL team...right alongside of the cowboys.

    F*** Favre
    F*** the jets
    F*** Wrangler Jeans.

Dude, so you're out 25 bucks, and you've had a rooting interest for the past 13 weeks.

    Worse things happen.

I wouldn't feel bad if I had lost earlier and/or the team I wanted to pick hadn't lost.

It's not an end of the world thing. I'm not depressed or anything. I'm just disappointed that we were so close and we blew it knowing that Favre would eventually show his ugly face.

That hurts big time, but you also have to think you're basically throwing 100 bucks away with 1101 entries.

You got pretty far so feel good about that I guess.

The NFL is so unpredictable from week to week, the Broncos are the ultimate wild card it seems, they can lose to the worst and then beat the best.

Really? 'Cause I love Brett Favre.

I'm not even kidding. He was my idol growing up. So glad he's kicking butt in NY!

Hmm, where can I get more info about this Loser's Pool for next year?

Btw, what happens if there are tied entries (multiple entries that win)? Split evenly or go into the playoffs or what?
