With the Mavs beating Lebron and their terrible start I had forgotten how much I hated the Mavs. Watching the Knicks Mavs game has reminded me.
I admit I have Linsanity but everytime but I everytime they show a close up of Dirk I just remember how much I detested them over the years.
Don't know if I'll ever return to my previous level of anti-Mav fervor. The glow of them humiliating the Lakers and beating the Heat hasn't completely gone away. Remember PJ walking off the court after game 4? Totally awesome. The Heat going down in game 6 was priceless. Good times.
It was great too see them beating the Heat in the Finals and even them beating the Lakers was fun to watch. If it's possible I would love to see that again. But still, they're still pretty pathetic.
I don't know. While I hate the franchise and Terry, I do have respect for them. Dirk Nowitzki Jason Kidd Shaw Marion Lamar Odom Vince Carter These are guys whom I admired watching growing up. And it is nice to see them winning. Outside of the Rockets, I really do like them.
I used to feel the same way, but I just can't look at Dirk the same way anymore. I have nothing but respect for the guy now. Not so much the rest of Dallas (the team or the city)...
I was saying this all last year in the finals. You guys had lost your mind rooting for the mavs. The Lebron hate consumed your and dominated your thoughts.
The main reasons as to why we hated them probably were Jason Terry, Eric Dampier and Josh Howard. Only one of them was there last year.
Regardless. If you grew up in the 2000s, odds are, you probably enjoyed seeing Dirk Nowitzki/Jason Kidd/Shawn Marion/Peja Stojakovic getting a ring. Those are all guys who have been close before, and just were great to watch throughout the era.

Indeed. For longtime Rockets fans, I don't see how you couldn't relish the Laker humiliation. It was epic watching PJ go out in flames. For some of the youngsters, I can see why they would dislike the Mavs more.
I used to hate them because our games against them were so intense. But the last 3 years the Rockets haven't had much fire and no passion and rivalries against teams don't seem to matter anymore.
lin time will take care of the heat, so no finals. =) It was all Maury's plan. what's that saying? a friend of my enemy is my friend? I don't like the mavs at all, but the way Dirk went at it last year it was difficult not to cheer for him.
