Anyone ever been stung before, jesus it hurts. I was standing outside and something flies behind my head. I waive my hand and get stung in the finger. luckily it was just the finger, if it would have been my neck, I didn't have anyone to pull it out. I've been stung three times. the first time I was working at astroworld. I was one of the guys who worked in the gift shops. I was taking over a register for this very pretty girl that guys from all over the park would ask me about. anyway, I'm yapping away at her, she's ignoring me, I look down on my sleeve because it looks like a roach was crawling on it. I go to waive it off, bam stung. that one got me pretty good, my arm was very swollen afterwards. should have sued. jk anyway, the second time was the same summer as the first, I'm outside playing basketball. well because I was working I didn't play on the goal that much, so I'm shooting baskets, and one comes flying out of the pole, straight for my head. they had built a nest in there because I wasn't playing that much. anyway it grazed my forehead, those are some mean suckers, but it didn't get the stinger in.
I've never been stung by a wasp, bees a few times when I was a kid. Sucks man, at least you aren't allergic.
NSFW language Spoiler I have only been stung once, in the back of my neck when I was like 5 years old. I don't remember much just that i was stung. Do stings really hurt that bad?
I got stung this summer for the first time in a long while. Got me on the palm of my hand, under my thumb. Mother of god that **** hurt. I had forgotten how much you swell up when one of the bastards pops you.
I was never stung by a bee or a wasp until about four years ago, when I was in my late 30's. I got stung while I was swimming in a pool - the wasp was happily floating on the water surface and I didn't see it. If you can imagine someone hammering a tack nail into your arm in one shot, that's just about what it felt like. Wasps suck. At least bees have the courtesy of stinging you once and then dying. Wasps will sting you multiple times and then happily be on their way. Wasps suck.
IN before the post about the guy getting rid of the bees with fire from another forum. Use GARLIC on the affected area. It will ease the pain. It works. I've been stung.
I used to date this girl in college, her parents had a pool. one very hot summer day the wasps come flying around the pool to cool off. we try to trap one with the net used to clean the pool. I'll just say this, apparently they can communicate when they're in danger because out of no where another two come flying at us.
They actually do release pheromones to attract other wasps when they are being attacked or feel they are in danger and if I remember correctly, they continue to release these even after you have killed them. Yellowjackets are the worst!
I have only been stung once in my life by either a wasp or a bee. Unfortunately, that one time was with 7-9 wasps (I think I had 9 stings but who knows if it was that many wasps). I was floating on a tube down the Guadalupe when I was 15. I wasn't paying attention until I saw I was floating into an overgrowth of branches from a tree. I reach out to push myself away and disturbed a nest of wasps that then descended upon my chest and stomach. In shock and pain and anger I had a little trouble getting myself out of the tube but i finally managed to flip myself out and swim to the other side. At one point I actually pulled a wasp and stinger out of my skin...which was odd. That really sucked. That, and one of the adults there said she had heard bleach was a great way to help with wasp stings. It wasn't. It hurt even more. My whole torso was messed up for a while after that.
i had a couple wasp's nests on my back patio and i exprienced this too. i wish my wife had been videotaping me trying to destroy those things cause i'm sure it was hysterical.
When I was younger I was stung quite a bit of times by bees and wasps. I would catch them in jars and let them fight to the death. I specifically remember the most epic fight between a Yellow Jacket and a Red wasp. The Yellow Jacket fckd him up! The Yellow Jacket was half the size but just kept stinging and stinging.
We have got some monster wasp nests that are easily 6-8" in diameter hanging outside our back windows and doors.... All the nest have about 50+ wasp hanging out at any given time... they seem to sleep until about 5pm then wake up and terrorize the area... I enjoy watching them for some reason, but they just got a friend of mine on the cheek so will have to kill them all soon.
It probably would've hurt less if it was in the neck, though, given how many nerves are in the fingers. I've only been stung by a bee/wasp once and it was while at swim practice. I grabbed the wall which happened to have a bee where I was grabbing. I guess I don't remember it being so bad, I just remember the stinger being lodged in there and having to take it out (bee suicide!).
If you had a stinger stuck in you, it was a bee. Wasps stingers don't come out. I thought wasps were bad in Houston until I moved to DFW. We have Cicada Killer Wasps here- they are a good two inches long and have some nasty 1/4 inch long stingers. They aren't aggressive like yellow jackets, but I wouldn't want to sit on one. (note- not my hand) Right now wasps are getting sealed out of their hives by the nest. That's why they're cranky and you see them everywhere. A couple weeks ago I was pulling 20+ of them out of my pool skimmer a day.
