Mike Dunleavy. He only got one minute of playing time with all goose eggs. At least Ming got some positive results with his intermittent seconds of play. The other poster's link to yaomingmania.com(sp?) was pretty cool, too.
Actaully he didn't play as poorly as Yao. Yao played a lot more minutes and still had terrible stats. But just wait a month or so, both of these rookies will be putting up some decent stats
Well, at least Yao got more time in game and got a rebound and an assist. At least Rudy played him more than one minute, although it was not enough for Yao to get in a rhythm. DoH, did you read the yaomingmania.com play by play? Obviously it would be biased but it doesn't sound too bad.
No i haven't read it, but I can speak of what I saw when I watched the game, and believe me Yao played very timid. But it was his first "real" NBA game. Just wait until he learns the NBA game, he will put up some big numbers, he's too talented not too.
My favorite line from yaomania is: "Yao's teammates missed shots so badly, he didn't have much of a chance to get rebounds or garbage baskets. " That's hilarious. I can just see Yao saying "There was no way I could get rebounds from eddie's shots...maybe if he shot better, I would have more rebounds"
and in a minute sweden will see how houston sucked this game.......the sporting news are about to come exactly now
And, imagine, Dunleavy has a famous basketball-playing/coaching father, is from America AND has been in the Bay Area since the summer. Our guy just flew in from China after a grueling 3-years worth of playing to get a whole 10 days to get used to a new language, a new culture, new food, a new country, new teammates and a new league.
ESPN commented last night that Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant combined for 0 points in their NBA debut.
I like all the comments particularly Jeff's. But , certainly, I hope Ming won't use any of those excuses. Just suck up, gather himself and be a big man.
