After some help here some time ago...and a bit of an impulse last night...I bought a Jeep Liberty Renegade last night. Silver exterior...black interior. I love the smell of a new car!
Cool....I'm thinking I may take the plunge tomorrow. I have a nice Truck, but it needs new tires. Plus, I'm going to be buying a truck this year anyway for tax purposes. I may just do it tomorrow. I can't really decide what I want. Dodge just doesn't get very good reviews. I'd love a king Ranch Supercrew, but this is the last year for the current F-150's and they really need some updating. I'd LOVE a King Ranch Super Duty crew cab diesel 4X4, but it's hard to justify spending close to fifty grand for a darn truck (even if I can section 179 every darn bit of it--thank YOU Congress!!). I like the GMC and Chevys, but I'm not real crazy about that Avalanch front end they're putting on them, and I'm not crazy about the seat comfort. I'm thinking I may just get a Toyota Tundra.
Agreed on the Chevy/GMC trucks. I have no idea why they changed the body style, the previous model was one of the best looking trucks I've ever seen. If I was to get a truck today, I'd probably have to go with an F250 Super Duty.
I have an F150 XLT and the thing is awesome. Gas and oil only for the past 5 years. What a great truck.
Congrats. Check out the radio. Is it just me or does it give you the call letters or nickname of the radio station? For example, 97.9 is "THE BOX", 104.1 is "KRBE", and 99.1 is "SUNNY".
i noticed that this morning...that's pretty neat. personally, i really like the lights mounted to the top of my car which i would get ticketed for if i turned on while driving down the road!
Don't forget to go easy on it for the first 1,000 miles! I got a new car last August. Other than the huge loan, it's a lot of fun!
That's what I have right now (an F-250). Got the crew cab, leather, diesel, 4X4....the whole works. Best vehicle I've ever had, and I'm not crazy about getting rid of it. But I really need to for tax purposes (got to do my part to help spur the economy....and Congress gave me a nice incentive), and there's no sense buying tires for it if I'm just gonna turn around and sell it. It's just that if I get one, I really want the King Ranch. And although the payments (with today's low interest rates) aren't too scary, I just can't see paying that much for a truck. I think I need to be more responsible.....and get the Tundra.
Nice, MM. Congrats I will drive my 96 Blazer until it completely dies. All my gear fits in back, it has an ice cold AC, and most importantly...it's paid off. Not having a car-note is wonderful.
I'm currently resisting the urge to buy a Trailblazer. Congrats on having the sack to buy a new ride in these tough times.
Especially the smell of your gas gulping 5 mpg SUV----Just kidding i'm just jealous, Jeep Liberties are sooooo cute just like the new VW Beetles, but bigger.
I just passed 5000 miles in my Liberty this morning. Aside from the 1.5 months that it was out of commission due to being hit on the freeway, it's been a wonderful car. The Renegade is really cool. I have a dark blue Sport (V6, of course) with gray interior. Only regret is not getting the upgraded Infinity sound system or the sun roof. It drives really well, and it seems to be getting increasingly better gas mileage every tank. Of course, you'll probably reach for the locks when you want the windows a few times, but after awhile it becomes second nature. The CD case right in the middle becomes very useful.
It's no biggie, but I'm not a fan of the location for the power windows although having all 4 together is nice.
I think Jeep is working on a Liberty hybrid (electric/gas). Hopefully it will have a stronger engine than the Prius/Insight/Civic Hybrid.
