That's what McGrady just said in the post game interview. He didn't expect these double teams playing with Yao. No link but I'm sure it will be in the paper tomorrow.

Double teams on him or double teams on Yao?

On Tracy, with Yao on the team.

I hate to blame this on JVG, but he has not been able to use T-Mac's and Yao's talent in a compatible way. When we made the trade for T-Mac, I envisioned that the pick & roll between the T-Mac and Yao would be unstoppable. In the games that I have seen so far, I have not seen this. I really want to see two man games between Yao and T-Mac (kind of like what Malone and Stockton used to do).

I still believe that things will turn around.

As much as JVG sucks as a coach, he surely doesn't have much influence on Yao bringing the ball too low, hitting the boards and playing with energy.

I wonder if TMac is surprised he found a teammate more Charmin-y than he is himself?

Is this second-guessing by TMac on his decision to join the Rockets? I sure hope not.

So.... umm... he didn't get double-teamed when he played for Orlando and lead the NBA in scoring?

Im happy that so far, it seems like Steve (and Cat/Cato) meant more to this team then some people think. You never heard excuses like that from them.

After he broke up our team he better not be second guessing!

I mean, even if he is it's not like there's anything he can do about it...I don't think even T-Mac has the nerve to demand 2 trades in 6 months.

He didn't have a 7'6" guy clogging the lane...who's too slow to get out of the way when he drives...or a coach who cannot run any semblance of an offense.

Maybe he's just trying to get Yao motivated into playing... just like what jvg does every now and then.

Tmac is not requesting a trade. He is just saying that Yao is not demanding the double teams. This would open up the floor for him and the rest of the team.

I think you need to call a spade a spade. Patrick Ewing is not doing a good job to show Yao how to dominate. This team will go as far as Yao, because that is how the offense is setup. I personally think they should run more and not wait on Yao.

so you want selfish players that at their best will never get out of the 2nd round?

Odd thing... I remember Yao was especially effective playing the high-low game under Rudy T. With Yao's jump shooting, ability to pick/screen and roll, and his relatively good mobility, clogging the lane shouldn't be a problem.

Mind you, I haven't watched the Rockets this season. (They just haven't seemed worth the time.) So I ask: is JVG killing all elements of improvisation in what is essentially an improvisational game? Is he having Yao park in the lane and try to "Shaq" people? Are the players looking the way Francis described them last year--as if they are afraid to make a mistake?

Kinda like some of you wanting a selfish player who plays with no heart, is injury plagued and led his team to a 1-19 start last year.

Yao actually got out of T-Mac's way too much!!! Watch the game, every time when T-Mac gets the ball to drive, Yao is on the opposite side of the board, and even stepped out bound. I don't remember Yao did it this often when Steve was on the team.
