I say "team" because the guys that are supposed to be the heart and soul of this team haven't the slightest idea what it takes to win. The Rockets don't deserve to even be mentioned in the same sentence with the word 'playoffs' with the way we have played all season. I don't care where they stand in regards to opponents points per game, this poor excuse for an NBA basketball team plays horrible defense. Have they ever heard of getting in your opponents face? What's even worse is their shot selection. How about creating some offense for teammates to make the defense more honest? I've seen better team play on a YMCA basketball court.

The word is out. The Houston Rockets backcourt is a group of selfish, individualistic pro-basketball players. Just listen to every other market's announcers. They know what's up. Focus on Francis, Mobley and Moochie on defense and you will have a legit chance of beating the Rockets on any given night. It's a shame because they have so much potential.....bah!

I have better things to do with my time than watch these selfish chumps. I hear watching paint dry can be pretty exciting.

    Jeff,

I think a lot of the reason that the summit is empty these days is EXACTLY what Pimp describes.

I hate watching this team play, it is ugly, ugly, ugly.

There is no excuse for some of these loses.

If it keeps up, I am in favor of getting rid of Rudy. Since you can't trade the players, and they don't seem to be responding to Rudy, something has to give.

It is clear that our biggest asset is our tallest player.....everyone in the world can see this but Francis and Mobley.

I think it is ridiculous and am getting tired of excuses from Rudy et al.

Just win baby...especially agaisnt the CRAP teams like Chicago.

I agree with you 100%. Teams will just let Steve shoot the jumper. He had a great game against the Lakers, now the law of average catches up. He is back to 40% ball.

How can the Jazz keep winning? 40 years old Malone, 40 years old Stockton, and a castaway from 76ers, one good second year player in Kirilenko. Their system must be so good!!!

You're right, only because I did not watch todays game, the first 3 quarters of Friday's game or last Monday's game. Eventually we will beat one of these teams we should beat.

Ditching Rudy won't solve anything. We'll still have dumb and dumber running our backcourt.

I was just joking. Look, if you care enough to come in here and post all the time watching the team is an inevitability.

Getting rid of Rudy does nothing, but cause another coach plenty of frustrations with this team.
Until individual players understand how to actually play the game of basketball, we won't win a single game in the playoffs......much less make them.

Another coach would do something different. Don't say it wouldn't change anything - it would. Hubie Brown would bench the Cat. Larry Brown would bench the Cat. Jeff Van Gundy would bench the Cat. Jerry Sloan would execute the Cat and make him his whipping boy. All would whack Francis publicly and demand better. All would have a game plan that worked 60% or more to the benefit of their true meal ticket - Mr. Yao Ming. Only Rudy is loyal to the old guard.

I bet if you moved our entire team to Los Angeles, every game would be sold out. Or if we moved it to New York, every game would be sold out. It doesn't matter. It's always sold out there no matter what. But in Houston...people just don't care. They'd rather watch the Texans...lose.

Anyways...lol...I bet you will be watching the next game.

Could Bill Walton make a difference? HELL YES!!!

Would he turn down a chance to coach Yao? HELL NO!!!

Would he bench the players that need to be benched when they are hurting the "TEAM"?

    What do you think?

You really think Bill Walton could coach?
Maybe hire him as an assistant.
He already has a job with ESPN.
    It would be pretty controversial.
    It would be pretty weird...

Anyways, Bill Walton looked hilarious back in the days.

Bill Walton would probably trade both of our forwards. He hates our forwards.

What pisses me off the most is that this team has shown that they can beat anyone. They seem to get amnesia and just go back to the same old ISO BS. They know what freaking works, stick to the game plan, hit the open shot and make your free throws!!!!

I want more Cato and less Taylor/Griffin until they start to play like NBA players. Hell TMo should start over Griffin/Taylor.

The season is not over, Houston is 4 games over .500 and in 8th in the West with a 3.5 game lead over GS. It is their playoff spot to lose. I still have hope, but I am not happy right now. They have to go 3-3 in the next 6 (3 home games) and regroup at the all-star break.

Man I've been defending Steve and Cat for a long time but tonight was really f---ing dissapointing. Steve did play way too selfish today. Cuttino wasn't bad but Steve just didn't play as a point guard at all. I still don't think Yao is good enough to take the reins of this team and I still think people who say we should run inside out through Yao are basketball illiterate because he isn't there at this stage of his career to be the focus of this team yet. But we needed Steve to be a playmaker and tonight he simply wasn't. I still want a more balanced attack like Sac, Utah or New Jersey where the guards are still the focus of the team but are able to distribute the ball better and the teamates would actually move without the ball. Though team as a whole should improve on mvoing without the ball, Steve as the leader should be the one that's making the plays that will reward players for moving around.

Steve doesn't even need to limit his shots, Bibby get 14 attempts in 35 min, Kidd gets 16.6 in 38, Payton gets 19 in 31, Fransis gets 17.5 in in 39. As u see the FGA/min diffrence isn't that big, what Steve needs to learn is to take the better shots. Steve needs to realized that he can still be the focal point and corner stone of this franchise with out forcing his shots, think Magic Johnson, flashy, taking over games when needed, scores and even with Kareem in the middle, Magic was the man on his team. This is a team I see the rockets have a possiblity of becoming, I can see it happening, but Steve needs for it to happen for the Rox to win. Then he'll actually the MVP he thinks he can be.

you know...who cares if you can't stand to watch the Rockets? Why do you find this to be interesting news Pimp?

imo, nothing is more annoying that someone sitting next to me at a game b****ing about how much they don't like to watch the team or hating certain players. And this happens at least 50% of the games this year. Like, shut up, I'm trying to watch a game here. If you can't enjoy it, bite your tongue or leave Pimp...it is that simple. Don't ruin it for the rest of us who love the game, simply as a game.

That's what I feel about your post, Pimp. Analyze the team; criticize them intelligently; whatever makes the game funner for you; but Pimp, I don't care if you don't like to watch "ugly" ball. booo freaking hoooo. Why don't you just become a Utah fan and be done with it?

I'll end with a story from Friday that illustrates my complete disdain for someone feeling the need to report that they "can't watch this team/game." So, the seats next to mine seem to sell through a ticket agency. I guy with a 4 yr old boy sit down on Friday. The boy is having the time of his life, despite the Rockets getting trashed. The guy sparks up conversation now and again, and warms up to us, then drops the line "Don't you just hate ghetto ball." Yeah, like just because I've talked to you in the past, I want to hear someone say that. He felt the need to say it one more time as he was leaving with 6 minutes left...this time to both jamcracker and I.

You know, I have never, ever been to a baseball game or football where someone said that can't stand to watch the game or team. As much as some people despised the Run and Shoot Oiler offense, I don't remember ever watching a game with someone who needed to tell me how they hate watching this type of football.

What is up with basketball? I don't get it.

Pimp, I'm not comparing your remark to the "ghetto players" remark, but I have the same response to it. If you hate watching basketball, go watch some UT football and baseball then and don't tell me your problem about not liking to watch basketball. Especially if you ever sit next to at a game again.

I was a huge fan of your posting Pimp, until this post. This post makes me lose faith in fans. This year of posting seems like more and more, the true colors of some old-timers like yourself is coming out -- you don't really enjoy basketball, unless it is played the way you want it to be played. imo, you have no real love for the game. Learn to love it as a game. Take a lesson from the 4 yr old kid sitting next to me if you love watching sports. If you don't like watching bball, take a lesson from the 4yr's dad and leave. But don't bother to tell us you hate the game/team on your way out. Just leave.

If R0ckets03 is reading this, if you ever lose the love, too, my fan faith will be shattered.
